hi folks ive had my vpower 15ah battery for a few months now and just noticed another pair of thicker wires.ive been connecting my battery via the supplied euro type plug to the controller as well as the charger to the controller.(ie same battery plug does controller and charger at seperate times)

i was wondering if this was correct.my mate has just got his ping battery and has the same query namely what are the extra pair of thicker wires for?

am i making sense?

Hi

The Thick wires are for the power to the controller the iee kettle type plug

is for charging if you try to draw power it will get hot and can catch fire

Depending on the BMS they use the same connection on the circuit board some BMS use separate charging cables

But if you have thick and thin then the heavy is the power to the controller

You need to be very careful if the charger has a kettle lead to plug into the battery and make sure nobody plugs a mains lead in with no charger

BMS ( battery management system )

To connect the battery to the controller use Choc block Terminal strip 30 Amp

thanks.looks like ive been connecting it wrong then doh!!!

I WONDERED WHY THE SKINNY WIRES LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE MELTING.

cant believe its still working.

when it arrived the controller had a male kettle plug and the battery a female.the charger also had a male kettle plug.i surely cant be the only one not to realise you need to make another connection or maybe im just thick.
