Wow...

What shocked me is that this multi-thounsand pounds bike is using cheap non waterproof connectors and cheap wires...

I would have expected quality in the inside too for such an expensive bike.

I wouldn't do that as there is a risk of frying the controller and void warranty at the same time. Voltage spike can happen anytime and controller has some safety margin but eating this margin is a bad idea.

It's great that people share their experience, but there's missing and misleading information in that video that could get someone in serious trouble if they tried it without knowing what they're doing.

The minimum cell-voltage that he mentions is much too low. 3.5v would be more like it, at which point the lipos should be disconnected to avoid running into the danger zone. You need real-time monitoring of the lipo voltage, not some meter burried in a bag. He doesn't mention that the controller's lvc has been eliminated and what that means for the main pack and how the size of the lipo pack affects that.

Finally, it's not really a speed hack. It's a power hack. The top speed is limited by the controlller. You'll note that he doesn't go over 25 kph. Obviously, with more power, it goes faster uphill.

It would be better if he made a link to some information that explained the principles of booster batteries, what's the upside and the risks.

I dont knpw much about electricity. I have just followed guidelines from other speed hackers.
Most of them have ridden a long time with booster battery without problems.

But you are right. One has to be aware of not harming main battery.
A part of the speed hack is a Little battery alarm placed in a bag with a Little window pocket so that you can see the V all the time.

I did a video on a flat private gravel road but it f...ed up.
Here the speed was 29 without booster battery and 39 with booster battery.

There's nothing wrong with booster batteries. Many of us have tried them. Most controllers can handle an extra two cells, but three extra cells is too much for most.

That's interesting what you say about speed. Many people tried to crack the speed limit on the Neos, but IIRC the only thing that worked was to replace the controller. What's the no-load speed of yours without the booster battery?

Light pedalling I can do 30 kmh.
It does not help on Neo bikes to change the controller. I have changed my euro controller to a US controller but that did not change the top speed (should give 5 kmh more top speed)

I also know a guy WHO has changed his Neo controller to a Nitro controller which should give topspeed at 45 kmh but that just did not happen.
Top speed with Nitro controller is still 30 kmh.
The only way to get higher top speed so far is via a booster pack.

The best thing though is faster accelerations when you use a booster pack. That is really cool :).
