So it's been a long time coming. We've let the idea of ebikes grow and nurture for over a year and in that time we've been lucky enough to borrow and try some Raleigh Motus bikes from our employee for about 4 weeks in total. This helped us realise the dream of commuting by ebike was a real possibility. When it came to purchasing we found that European wide shortages meant a wait of months for the Raleigh bikes. We got talking to Damian Harris Cycles, who were excellent and suggested we looked at the Cube bikes. We settled on 2 Cube Touring Hybrid 400 low steps (a 54" and 46" for me and the wife respectively). Even these had a waiting time, apparently because Bosch are struggling to keep up with demand this year. But to our surprise both bikes turned up this week and they're fantastic!! Comparable to the Motus but £300 cheaper per bike, we couldn't be happier :)

I love the colour and styling and Cube seem like a strong brand. It was a gamble buying unseen but it paid off and I'm pretty certain if we'd seen both the Raleigh and Cube in a shop, we'd have gone for the Cube anyway.

Over the next few weeks I'm going to put together a review. My next challenge is securing an extension to our bicycle storage shed at work, which has been almost full over the winter. I'm a long time believer i ebikes as the future of urban travel and this week we've taken our small step to contributing to that.

I should love to see a review. There's not enough info out there for buyers, so "real world" tests and opinions are very helpful for others new to the field.

I'm very happy with my KTM at present, but my eyes are always open for the next time I can justify buying a new shiny thing. :D
