As above, shop I'm planning on buying from is some distance away and I'm planning on cycling back.

New batteries normally have a half charge, so as Gubbins says, you'll need the shop to charge it for you.

It might be a good idea to phone the shop the day before. It can take a number of hours to charge the battery.When I bought my bike that is what was done.. they got it in from the distributor maybe two days earlier and it was available fully serviced all screws tightened correctly for my collection. Based on a few posts listed here, there is value in going to a competent shop.

The shop charged mine for me, with out me asking, over night before I collected. I was hoping to ride it home, but the weather wasn't obliging. I believe the battery was about half charged... ish.
