Wiring - help needed!!

I'll try this again - I don't know where my last post ended up:confused: .

I have just purchased a cheap kit. So cheap it did not even come with a wiring diagram! Unsurprisingly, I've not had much success getting any info from the supplier. I think that it may have come originally from a company called VPower but I can't get onto their HK website.

This is a photo of the controller:-

Most of it is OK, I just have 2 questions:-

1. I assume that the heavy red and black wires in the white connector block on the controller are + (or switched positive) and negative from the battery, but what is the thin red wire?

2. The supplier said that the green/yellow single wire is for the brake switch, but how is the circuit completed? Through the normally open brake switches to ground on the controller body or to negative?

Any help would be appreciated,
Ian

I have had two different types of controllers, and in both cases both the thick and thin red wires had to be connected to the positive battery lead, personally i did not bother with the brake wiring so i cant help there.

but what is the thin red wire?

Bafang Engine:

Power supply:

Red must be connected to the positive (recommendation: backup 20A insert), black to the negative pole and the thin red wire is also connected to 36Volt Plus. If you are in the thin red wire to install a switch you can turn the controller () standby circuit. However, we recommend a main power switch, so you do not always have to disconnect the battery (engine pulls) of electricity even when not in use.

The above is taken from Frank's website and is the method I have used on my Bafang motor/controler connections.

Caution - You would have to be certain this applies to your controler.

Worth a look at the pages to see if the controllers /connections are similar ?

Thank you

Thanks guys.

It appears to be working well in the garage. I just need to get the wiring tidy and weatherproof.
