Hi I'm A New Member - Hope Someone Can Help.

The Other Day I Bought A Bike From A Member Of This Forum ,
Paying Decent Money For A Bike In 'excellent Condition'
I Rode It When I Got Home And The Motor Kept Cutting Out.
I Emailed Member [iain - Bamo] Who Said It Didnt Happen For Him [?]

After Fully Charging The Battery I Rode It To Work For The First Time Today - My 2 Mile Journey There Seemed Fine , However On My Return Journey The Motor Was Intermittent Cutting Out Then Returning Every Few Seconds.
I Am Upset And At Present Feel I Have Wasted My Money On What I Thought Was A Great Bike To Purchase. It's Of Little Use Like This. Can Anyone Please Please Help With My Problem???

Thanks,
Steve.

How old was the bike? what mileage on it when you bought it? Did the stalling or cutting out happened on long/short, steep/moderate hills?

I had a similar problem with one of my ebikes a while back it tuned out to be a loose wire connection on the battery plug, which was intermittent some times working for days without a problem then cutting out every couple of miles.
Bamo`s previous post say`s the sensor for the pedal assist had bent slightly away from the crank, but he had fixed it could be worth looking at that. Dose it cut out in both modes? (Pedelic and throttle), do the lights stay alight on the handle bars when it cuts out?

wisper 905se problem.

thanks for the replies so far.
Bamo didnt say how old bike was but it is an se and doesnt look particularly hard ridden and does look looked after.
The cutting out seems random and not dependant on whether one is on a hill or not. It cuts out in both modes.

That definitely sounds like a connection problem and not a battery fault then.

Try cleaning the battery connectors and make sure that the connections to the bike are secure.

Hi Tony!
Do I have to take the battery off the W. 905 se in order to charge it? In my previous clone I didn´t have to. Which was a good thing since I didn´t have to take off the seat every time for charging. The seat didn´t tilt forwrd as in other bikes.

Hi Steve and sorry to hear about your problems :(
Have you managed to sort out what the problem is yet?
One thing you didn't answer was the one about whether the battery indicator stays lit up when it cuts out or does it drop to low battery?
i am not sure what instruments you have on the handle bars on your one so I am not sure what you can see with regards battery consumption etc.
I have the blue one which was supplied with my German bike so if you have the same see if all the lights go out apart from low battery when it cuts out?
Hopefully you will soon be up and running and you will enjoy the bike as I do.
Kind Regards
Mandy

Hi Poppy
I too charge mine on the bike unless it's raining or in the winter when I would rather charge indoors.
The quick release is no problem however and has never given me a problem.

Hi Mandy, On the Aggatu this is not an option, the battery has to be taken off as it charges thro the 'blades(contacts at the bottom)
(NB this is not a problem as any fule no that the charger of the Aggatu is the superiorist charger of any bike)
Seriously though, the Silverado's Battery can only be removed by 'lifting' the saddle. BUT I have just realised after reading your post ,that it is possible to charge the Battery on the bike, as the charger has a cord with a plug on the end fitting a simple socket on the battery....does any one know if there could be implications doing this .

Hi Oldosc
LOL my charger is cool and I didn't realise that with the Aggatu, oh dear, but guess it is not a problem anyways :) I actually prefer to take mine off in case I forget about it and only like to leave my charger on for the necessary time
I have a three pin adapter that is plugged into the battery and then plugged directly into the power supply. The other cable from the charger plugs into the battery charging socket on the battery itself.
I am not sure of any implications with this. However I would advise that the three pin plug is plugged securely into the charger itself and the other lead is securely connected to the battery before turning the power supply on.
But I guess that would go without saying, you just have 2 leads to worry about rather than one which is what I think you are questioning?
Where's my Pastie?? :D

Hi

My Problems Are Still There. I Recharged And Tried Again The Other Day.this Time Pedalec Didnt Work At All And Throttle Was Intermittent As Before. It Did Seem To Be Ok For A Hundred Yards Or So Then Quickly Cut Outs Seemed To Come More Often Till They Were Every Few Seconds.
As Regards The Battery Indicator - When Motor Cuts Out The Indicator Goes To All Lights Lit And When Motor Comes Back In A Few Of The Lights Go Out.
Any More Help Would Be Appreciated As At Present I Have A Bike Which Ive Only Just Spent A Good Amount Of Money On Which Is Useless To Me - God I Wish I'd Spent Some More And Got A New One.

Steve,

I understand you bought your bike from the member known as Bamo.

He sent me a few messages trying to sort out Pedelec faults, which I shall forward on to you. It sounded like the fault that was common to all the 905se bikes from Germany, so I referred him to the thread started by JimmyEngland on the subject - here.

You might want to ask him if he changed anything with the controller following this, if that helped, or if something went wrong in the process. If it is a different fault I'd say you have two options: either go to the Wisper guys and see if they can help, or buy a new controller from someone like ecrazyman on ebay

Frank

PS - your messages would be easier to read if you didn't put a capital at the start of each word!

Hi Steve
Sorry to hear you are still having problems with your Wisper :(
After what you have described regarding the lights regarding consumption I too think it is definitely something to do with the wiring problem which I too had and others have had too with bikes from Germany?
Maybe the fault was incorrectly rectified? The wiring diagram is somewhere on this site and maybe able to assist you in checking it against what it should look like? Check all the connections too as there maybe one that is not quite right?

Steve is this the one that had the throttle wired up without the cables being neatly stored away with the rest of the cables within the cable tidy when the throttle was attached? Not that this would cause the cut outs but the cables are open to much wear and tear and not a good set up.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help but if the lights had gone out on cutting out then I may have suggested checking the battery, but in your case this certainly does not look like the problem.

If you can't locate the wiring diagram PM me with your email addy and I will find it and forward it to you.

I guess sometimes we all take a chance and try to save money as I did buying a brand new one directly from Germany which I am happy to say is great after the wiring was sorted. The bike is my life line and my only transport to work and back. The journey in a taxi is over £10 each way!!!!!

I am really hoping that you weren't sold a pig in a poke and am hoping this is just one of those things that happens when you buy second hand?

Hope you get it sorted and enjoy it as I do because it is a shame.

Good luck
Mandy
