Hi....is the frame size the same on all Wisper 905s ?

I am only 5' 7" but my Wisper is far too small for me, I dread to think what it'd be like for a 6 footer.

It's fine for a few miles but yesterday I did 30 miles and I was knackered,
....can't blame it all on the small frame I know...but it didn't help.

thanks....Mike

Could it be that your bike setup needs adjusting? I ask as I'm the same height as you and have no problems with the 905 frame.

Saddle height is all important to get the most out of your legs, I have mine set so that when my pedal is fully down, me knee is just unlocked. Or to put it another way, when I'm sat on the saddle, my toes only just touch the ground enough to support me (barely).

Another thing that adds to fatigue is having too much weight on your arms, this being adjusted with the handlebars, the more vertical your body, the less weight. Being more vertical does make you less aerodynamic though, so it's a balance of comfort vs speed.

Seems odd - I'm the same height and it's fine with the saddle an inch or so above the minimum. Not helpful I know, other than, as Straylight says, it might just be the setup that's wrong. It doesn't seem to attract compaints other than from the very tall or the very short.

reversing the support on seat allows seat to be set back quite a bit. we are all so different it is all a matter of ergonomics...... it takes a while to set up/adjust a comfortable position.

the older wisper seat does not help, the newer Velo Plush ones are far more comfortable IMO. I now dont need to wear padded cycling shorts unless on a long ride.....

Hi there, as has been said previously I would check your set-up. I am 5ft 10 and have no problems - the bike is comfy after 40-50 miles in a day

Thanks guys....I got rid of the Wisper saddle as soon as I got the bike, now useing a Maddison G10 saddle, cannot get it any further back.
The distance from the centre of the saddle to the handlebar stem is 25"
The handlebar stem is completely fixed...there is no adjustment possible....It's the quill type...but fixed.

I also have a standard mountain bike, that was too short when I bought it but because of the type of stem I was able to change the "riser" and it's now 27" from saddle to stem and much more comfortable.

My previous electric bike "Powabyke X6" was unsuitable in other ways but the extra length over the Wisper was excellent.

Not knowing how good the battery is, I'm not too keen on spending a lot of money on it but is it feasible to change the front forks to suspension and at the same time alter the stem to the same kind as my mountain bike....a short stump rising from the frame, then fix a seperate "riser" which would give me more length and height....much like my mountain bike.

.....On my mountain bike,Is that short "stump" part of the forks ?

.....thanks Mike

They are all the same frame size but it sounds like you have the eco version, the others come with an adjustable stem.
To start with I had no problem with the size but as I have become more experienced I know the reach is a little short, only just though and I'm 5'10". I think a slight change to the angle of the seat tube would make it perfect but that won't work well for those who ride it in a more upright position.
I've now got the larger framed 906 Alfine on order and being designed for northern Europe I hope the geometry will be better for me and my style of riding (usually trying to go as fast as possible).

Was no one else tempted to ask if you had switched the bike on? :D

I'm 5'10 and have been riding a 905 for 8 months now with the standard saddle - which is reasonably comfy...
