Has anyone had any experience using these type of tyres in the recent bad weather?

I have experience in that type of weather, on a similar path with a ditch on one side, with the bike running original Chinese tyres. Although we didn't see that level of snow this time, what did settle was frozen solid. I was scared but was able to run the bike full speed without sliding once. When the leaves were falling, and there was mud and broken branches everywhere I did slide a few times and had to drop the speed.

I'm commuting on the Ice Spikers at the moment. They're quite a bit wider than the Marathon Winters (which are more like Snow Studs but with studs in the middle) and they have more studs on them.

They're great on snow and ice that hasn't been churned up by cars, but on the roads you still have to be careful because the tyres can slide. They seem to grip the top level OK but the snow can move underneath giving unnerving lateral movement.
