Also they do satalite communications and have a business name of Insat International, many small busineses working out of the same building/work space. They have ground floor workshop and office area and 1st floor space as well.
Jimmy reminds me of Mike Burrows both very knowledgable and engaging orators in there specialist field, if one ever gets the chance a visit is highly recommended.

Thanks to Everyone for their support.

So Jem will re-cell it for £300 and the batteries on eBay are £150. Quite a difference but do you guys know why? Are the eBay ones of worse quality and won't last do you think?

I am leaning towards Jem but just wanted to get you guys' opinion.

Thanks

Adam

Jimmy & Jem will use top quality cells, likely Panny/Sanyo GA or Sam 35E cells though they will have others. Molicel is another top brand cell.
Did you not ask which ones ?

The cheaper ebay ones will likely use unbranded China cells.

Recelling is always worthwhile for an almost impossible to replace battery, or one that is absurdly expensive to replace. However, that way you are paying UK labour prices for a one-off battery build, rather than Chinese labour prices for mass production.

It's very difficult to judge how much of the price difference is in cell quality, and how much in build costs. As Nealh says, at least with a quality rebuild you know what cells you are getting, and that they are decent ones. The China ones are more of a gambol.
