CPS probably still weighing up the evidence, even if bike is legal etc, there's still a hit and run offence to deal with and leaving the scene of an accident.
Still early days yet.

Needless to say if a similar accident had happened here as sadly did in London the outcome would have been considerably different so perhaps the salutary advice would be no illegal e-bikes anywhere :(
Looking at the dongle poll thread it looks like 40% of us either have or want them.

Bumped into a chap on a kit bike yesterday.. Fitted a 250 W rear hub motor, removed limiter(said he d removed cadence sensor and fitted a twist grip ) Then looked in controller and noticed capacitors rated at 60v so he, d fitted extra batteries, pushing voltage to 48v rather than 24...Around Lady Bower on hills my Haibike was quicker,(easily) but once on flat he pulled away. Back at cars (I let him go) he was boasting of 30 mph speeds on tracks on the flat..
What could go wrong ??
