I love my yose power conversion , I have the 250w rear motor great pulling power rides really well, but as I have some private land to ride on I was wondering if I could fit a 350w wheel and would it marry up to the controller etc, and is it possible to buy just the rear wheel any one?

I think it is the 250W controller that is locked to 15.5 mph, so you'd just end up with a (nominal 350W) motor that wasn't as powerful as your nominal 250W motor because the 350W motor has a higher winding speed. What are you trying to achieve on your private land ? I think people have reported here the 350W nominal motor is not as powerful at climbing hills as the nominal 250W motor (which is what you would expect because the 350W is a faster motor)

You can buy the "350w" 18amp controller from Yosepower to use with your 250w motor. They are available integrated into the battery slider or "stand alone".
It is much better than the 15 amp YJT controller supplied in the 250w kits. If you also want to unlock the speed limit and have a full throttle you'll also need to buy another C500 display as the one in the 250w kit is "locked". The difference in power is very noticeable and yes the 250w motor with the 18amp. controller is a better hill climber than the 350w due to the lower winding speed and lower internal gears. The 350w. motor has a higher top speed.
You could get a KT controller and display kit which will make either motor more controllable and powerful. I started with the Yose 18amp controller and display on both my bikes ( 250w and 350w) and it was very worthwhile before moving on to KTs - which are better still. Have a search around the forum for Info on KT controllers.

The 350w one spins faster than the 250w one, which is the last thing you want for towing a trailer or riding off-road. The 350w one would be good for commuting and longer bike rides if the higher speed was allowed, but it isn't in this country, nor most of Europe.

Power = torque x speed

Let's say you get T amount of torque at 15 mph from the 250w motor, so your power is T x 15 =15T watts

The 350w motor gives less torque, but more speed. Let's say torque is now 90% of T, but speed is 20 mph maximum. The power will be 0.9 x 15 = 13.5T at 15 mph and 0.9T x 20 = 18T at 20 mph, so at 20mph with the 350w motor, you get about 33% more power, but at 15 mph, you get 10% less power.

What you feel as power is actually torque, which is the force that accelerates you and lifts you up a hill, so torque is much more desirable than power unless you need to go fast all the time, like on a long commute.

Thank-you for all replies, the land I have permission on is pretty much flat with just a few small hills, but very bumpy so don't want to ruin my bike going over it so may get another bike and put a yose 350 w system into it.
