Pedal assist not working
Right i'm back with a update, Pro rider Mobility sent me a new pedal sensor that solved the issue, when i checked the old one i found one of the wires had snapped inside the sensor but due to the fragile connectors it could not be repaired as the other connectors snapped off while the thing was dismantled cos it is full of sealant making it difficult to strip. I added some hot glue to the cable entry on the new one to seal and reinforce the cable to take the strain. So the bikes are now working ok and me and the wife can now get out on the bikes for exercise and make light work of the hills.

Pedal assist not working
I've just checked continuity on the sensor wires and on the red and black pos and neg wires i got zero, so i checked on the one that works ok and got a reading of 17.93k ohms so it looks like a broken wire. does this sound about right?

Pedal assist not working
As mentioned in a previous thread i have just fitted front wheel e kits to mine and the wifes bikes and all was working ok, I have now tidied up the wiring and got the controllers fitted in the carrier boxes but now one of the bikes has lost pedal assist. Everything else is working ok the led meter works and the throttle and brake switches are all ok, I double checked all the connections and all are ok so i swapped the controllers to elimate that but still the same, so i assume the pedal assist sensor is faulty, are there any other tests i can carry out to check the pedal sensor or is it likely the sensor has failed after barely a couple of miles use.

New kits fitted yesterday
Those brackets look the business but my wheels have keyed anti rotation washers fitted on the inside of the forks and the spindles are round where they pass through the drop out so the external brackets would not fit.

New kits fitted yesterday
My 2 new kits arrived last week from Pro Rider, there were a few small niggles but these were sorted promptly and I fitted the kits to mine and the wifes bikes, We are both in our late sixties and bought the bikes from Halfords several years ago but due to dodgy knees and arthritis the bikes were only used a few times and then stored in the garage. The kits were straight foreward to fit, the wiring is fitted temporarily until i get some spiral wrap and then i can make a proper job and store the controller and the wiring connections in the box at the front of the battery rack. Although my bike has rear suspension i have managed to fit the rack securely, i need to make a bracket to tie in the front stabiliser rods which are secured with a tie wrap at present to check the fit. Because we have not ridden the bikes for several years we had a practice run up the back lane cos its reasonably flat, the missus was a bit unsteady setting off and stopping and ended up in a heap but after a few goes she got the hang of it and we can now get up the inclines that we have to get out of our road, so hopefully we can now use the bikes to get a bit of exercise. Here are a few pics of the bikes, please ignore the tie wraps these will be tidied up later.

Battery pack tail light not working
I assumed the light would come on with the main switch because there are no connections from the battery other than the pos and neg connections so i couldn't figure out how it would be switched by the controller. the batteries are under warranty and have a anti tamper sticker so i cannot open them.

Battery pack tail light not working
Newbie with my first question I have just purchased two electric bike kits with the rear carrier mounted 36v 10 amp flat batteries with what appear to be built in tail lights but the lights don't work, should they come on when the battery is switched on or are they just reflectors? thanks for any help, this is a great forum.

Newbie from the North East
Hello fellow E-bikers, I only discovered e bikes at the caravan show two weeks ago and decided i would get a couple of kits for me and the missus, We are both old codgers in our late sixties and dodgy hips and knees are making walking any distance for exercise difficult, we already have a pair of bikes we got from Halfords around six years back and only used a couple of times due to the hilly terrain in our area so discovering electric kits seemed to be the answer to getting us back on the bikes. After a bit of research i ordered a couple of kits, but the kits didn't work and according to the supplier it was because i had fitted the pas sensor on the left hand side cos there was no room behind the triple chainwheel, i thought i should have got power using the throttle alone but anyway the seller said it would not work without the pas on the right hand side so i had to send them back for a refund. So after asking some questions of other suppliers i have ordered a couple of kits from Pro rider mobility mainly based on price and the warranty, they should be here within the next couple of days and hopefully we can be out at the weekend. Anyway enough of my ramble and hopefully i may have some useful info to contribute in the future.
