  1. If soundwave says its expensive I'm not even going to bother looking!
  2. So they've stolen it and managed to source a charger before selling it? Looks like someone knew what they were doing.
  3. This already exists although not in a slimline form like you are looking at and not UK legal either. Search for Ridekick to find a push trailer which does what you want, the legality of moving the motor off your bike and onto a trailer is I suspect a dubious area in the EU.
  4. You spend 6k on a bike and then ride one handed to film your ride instead of shelling out another 100 on a go pro?
  5. So what you are saying is that by riding your Bosch unpowered. You are riding a resistance machine and getting even fitter! Well done!
  6. I would suspect ETA given my £160 for a 2k quote and last year £100ish for 1k I think they said cost goes up exponentially with the bike value, and given soundwave's bike...
  7. OK I will have to work out how to do that - ill ask at the bike shop this pm. Thanks Eddie
  8. Don't think it was chain suck. Cleaned the bike again last weekend (it's a weekly thing for me as riding on roads I don't get quite as muddy as EddiePJ) degreased chain and relubed with wet lube only 30 miles ago. Haven't been anywhere muddy. Bike has only just topped 220 miles total today and still looks like its just done 1 short dusty ride home from the shop where I went down a dirt track this evening. Will have to ask about the clutch thing on the derailleur tomorrow when I pop into the bike shop again to tell them I've found the source of a rattle I'd been associating with the front brake - loose spoke not picked up at first service today.
  9. Eddie's is more of an amphibious vehicle than a bicycle the way he uses it! If you put a crud catcher on th he downtube behind the mucky nutz, you should catch most stuff and not get too disgusting on your bike I'm enjoying going offroad.more and more as I have my bike so get some proper mtb guards not boring mudguards as you may find you want to use your bike for pleasure as well as commuting!
  10. I had already effected and competed the gear change before coming to a stop for the lights.
  11. Mucky nutz with a crud catcher behind it - still working out the rear arrangement
  12. According to the manual, the arrows are gear change recommendations (like in a new car) - never seen the up arrow and occasionally see the down flicker she I'm cycling fine so there is definitely something not right with the SW on that. Those extra digits shown are erroneous and not defined as existing in the manual at all.(I've just checked.) Get it replaced under warranty if possibly.
  13. You should have got a tandem! What's a human rated at?
  14. I'm going to become a specialist haibike dealer selling parts only. I reckon that I could easily make a living selling soundwave his weekly quota of new bits to try and new gadgety parts!;) Tell you what introductory offer soundwave - 119 links in the chain and all gold(ish) for £75 that's more links than you've got now so the chain has extra time to cool as you spin it round so fast! What dfo you think?
  15. It shouldn't be saying 800w on your bike with your chosen career Jonathan!
  16. New cube bike, Bosch performance line motor, 200 miles so far. Cycling to work this morning came to a stop ( for traffic lights) on the last hill before work and dropped down 2 gears from top gear. I was in turbo mode as I needed to get to work really fast and the extra booist away from the lights/junctions always helps if this is the case. Lights changed and I put my right foot down hard to start up the hill and the rear wheel locked ( which really hurt!) Had to edge to the side of the road and walked it up hand over the crossing. Checked the derailleur for the expected jammed chain and nothing. Turned electric off to see if I could cycle unpowered. And succeeded. Turned electrics back on and bike is fine again. So what happened to my bike that nearly pulled my hamstring? Did a clutch in the motor get jammed and free itself? Did I push too hard? Do I need to worry about this happening again? Has anyone else experienced this? Help James
  17. It's meant to be on the motor, so the tube should be not even in your mind! Edit - kind of confused why the Bosch system does not have this on as standard as its a legal requirement to place it on the motor and where it can be seen!
  18. http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/bosch-lighting-connection-whereabouts.13998/ 'twas SRS!
  19. Its a beautiful thing when it does work. I doid it to my conversion kit as soon as the 1 year warranty was up and having lights on all the time was great, I never had to adjust my range to compensate as a learnt what it was and everything came on at the turn of a key. Problem is all of my old lights were 12v ones , the front one was a 10w light so way above the power limit and not suitable for off road. I think it can be done, you just need high-end lights (circa £200?). I seem to recall seeing a post where someone was upgrading their system with the help of Martin from ebike shop to do the S/W mod to the Bosch system and supply the cables. (It might have been SRS or mfj197). I'll try and track it down so we can cross reference who has knowledge of a lighting setup that works!
  20. I've looked at that too - it's rather *** isn't it! better off having a spare USB charged light and running it from the display connector if it dies and a couple of these style of lights: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/290940436543?hlpht=true&hlpv=2&rlsatarget=&adtype=pla&ff3=1&lpid=122&poi=&ul_noapp=true&limghlpsr=true&device=c&chn=ps&crdt=0&ff12=67&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff14=122&viphx=1&ops=true&ff13=80 (they tend to last over an hour on a charge and a pair mounted on the handlebars gives you lots of light for seeing with your Cube.) I need to get another. I'm thinking I'll ride with 2 lights and 3 batteries so I have a spare battery for when the lights die to get me all the way home. - there are lots of sellers of these and they are very cheap.
  21. You're not suggesting Eddie undergoes a particularly harsh leg wax after that first picture are you soundwave?
  22. Hargreaves was one of the last places in the country to sell it's reaction hybrid pro 29er. It/they went the week I was looking at trying to test ride one. (About 6 different online stores sold out that week.) I'm sure they'll have something to try - you can always call and find out!
  23. German import taxes on the goods, German exports taxes, German VAT levels. Warranty is shifted from the retailer to someone else so the retailer doesn't need as much cash reserves to cover themselves.
  24. from Germany - hasn't got the same warranty or legal repercussions as buying from the UK, it's worth the extra £300 for the warranty IMO. (In Germany the warranty laws are different from the UK and so you could be really stuck if it breaks!)
