  1. Think rather than try to open up the control box I am going to get a separate rear light. I have a front one already. As I think it is a matter of connecting it up and we didnt think of that. Just wanted to add I did a 6 mile journey today up some big hills with gale force wind and snow and I loved every second of it. This freedom is amazing
  2. Okay another daft question. The back light on the battery doesn't seem to light up at all. I can't seem to figure it out. Could it have been that yellow cable that we didnt hook up that came from the battery??? If so my husband will be a bit raving when he finds out he has to open the evil controller box to get to the controller with its tons of wires he was ranting at lol.
  3. Thanks everyone again! And I do think my Husband is already keen he was saying to friends last night how cool it was. I ended up going on 2 more rides after that and one to my friends house which I have never been able to do before and I just nearly burst into tears at the fact I can get out now
  4. Thanks Just been on my first run out on the bike after my husband had his test ride lol and OMG I LOVE IT!!! Sorry for shouting but this is amazing and a new sense of freedom for me. It even handled some pretty steep hills. So thought I would share some pics with you all http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj234/KristaKerosene/My%20First%20Ebike%20ride/Pano%20with%20bike_zpslsfpwm70.jpg' alt='Pano%20with%20bike_zpslsfpwm70.jpg'> I went down to see the seal pups and just see what else was down there we had orca's in Shetland the other day. Anyway there are more pics in the album below. http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj234/KristaKerosene/My%20First%20Ebike%20ride/Pano%20with%20bike_zpslsfpwm70.jpg http://s273.photobucket.com/user/KristaKerosene/library/My First Ebike ride
  5. Fantastic help awol. That is really clear. Once the tool arrives we will get it on there
  6. This is ultimately what my OH did so great thinking and even though I am new here too ,Welcome Everyone here has seen me through a million questions, from buying the bike I wanted to convert, to finding the kit and now getting it working. So it is a great community and I am so glad for all the friendly help. Just about to go on the first test drive in a few and I am beyond excited
  7. So we are at the point of trying to fit the controller and wires into the box and so far it is a nightmare. My OH is trying to make it work but he is worried it might damage some of the wiring. Is it really this tight of a fit? Or any helpful suggestions Cheers again everyone
  8. Fantastic d8veh I am ordering the tool now and we will follow your instructions once it arrives. Thanks. So for now I am just going to be using with the throttle until the tool arrives. So excited to get out for a ride later as it is a beautiful day here and flat calm.
  9. Also I managed to do all the wiring HAPPY DAYS and everything is working so my OH is currently tidying all of the wires up. I am so grateful to all of you for your amazing help. I am now an electric bike owner so I will be sticking around with you lovely lot.
  10. Okay so we are going to leave the PAS off for now and install it later as we need another tool to do it. So now onto wiring and getting it all ready to go.
  11. giltbrook that video was very helpful. My husband is currently going to work on installing it. I do have a question which may seem stupid. But does it matter which side it goes on. As we think it will work on the left side of my bike, because I have the chain guard on the right side.
  12. Okay trex thanks, we are slowly getting there my husband was up until 1am working on it all
  13. Okay got two pics up and one of the yellow cable that comes out of the battery which I still havent figured out what it is connected to. Sorry for the rubbish pictures we have a house full of kids and our internet is dragging sooooooooo slow so making it difficult to upload much. http://s273.photobucket.com/user/KristaKerosene/library/E%20BIKE%20KIT
  14. Thanks d8veh then we will give it a go Not sure how to fit it yet but so far everything else has gone smoothly with everyone's help here. I found a video of what mine looks like is this guy fitting it right???
  15. Good morning everyone I have another question is it essential to put on the PAS because after doing a lot of reading it sounds as if it would annoy me more than anything. So what are your thoughts???
  16. I have added some of the wire pictures I took to the same album but will share the link again. I just need to add thank you all for your info, and help so far. I am sure I will need more help so just want you all to know how much it is appreciated. http://s273.photobucket.com/user/KristaKerosene/library/E%20BIKE%20KIT
  17. Just working on doing that trex took a ton and a ton of each individual wire group. So it might take a bit, so might even be morning when I get them up here but I will do thanks again sooooooooooooo much.
  18. Thanks again trex. I will upload some more pictures as there are a few things on the wiring that are confusing me still. My husband is changing the wheel in a minute so best check this first. Oh the red battery bit seems to have two bits but only one to plug into it.
  19. trex is that okay to try without everything else hooked up? And thank you awol
  20. So here is all the pictures of my kit. I have one big question where does the controller box go??? Inside the battery rack mount case??? http://s273.photobucket.com/user/KristaKerosene/library/E%20BIKE%20KIT
  21. Okay going to take some pictures and post them in a bit again thanks trex and d8veh
  22. Thanks so much trex. My husband is going to have a good look shortly he thinks it should be a breeze but as he often gets called out for work I am hoping I can do most of it myself. Although I am not the most technically savvy gal I think I will manage as I am a logical gal and youtube videos are my friend.
  23. Oh NO!! Just found an amazon review of my kit from this company and it does NOT come with intructions!! So am I too just assume that the same color wires attach to each other??? Grrrr frustrating beyond belief. I have found some videos on how to install a similar kit but no explanation on the wiring. http://www.amazon.co.uk/ELECTRIC-BIKE-CONVERSION-LITHIUM-BATTERY/dp/B00N0OXPG4/ref=sr_1_4?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1427555112&sr=1-4&keywords=electric+bike+kit
