  1. yes, it is all a bit vague... i've tested our alpino motors at 700w for about 3 minutes, then a rest of 30 sec (back down the hill!) then another 3 minutes... did this 7 times... motor was hot, but well within its operating temp... I'm very impressed by these alpino motors... being a japanese company, they seem very conservative in their power rating... but, like any machine... the harder you run it, the shorter it's lifespan... so, our alpino motors are very comfortable with 15 amps continous... hence the 2 year warranty. :-)
  2. PA speed on Alpino yes 6 % is to be expected... It is not a battery or motor issue (our cells are the same as they have always been :-) ) The 6 top speed levels of PA assist will decrease as the running voltage decreases (which is a normal process in any battery). The running voltage (under high load) of wisper 14ah batteries starts at about 38v and will be 31.5v on a near depleted battery. This will drop the speeds of your PA modes about 20%. My advice is to click to level 6 (100%) when your batt is getting low. Also, best to charge your battery after each use... this keeps you in the high running voltage end of things and this is where your battery prefers to be :-) By top-up charging regularly, instead of deep cycling, you will increase the lifespan of your battery and always get the top speed out of your system. Hope this helps.
  3. Wisper 806 unbeatable!!! here it is folks... freshly edited with the help of Guim (on his wisper world tour, currently in NZ)... I hope you all like Queen!!
  4. Hi Folks, Nice to see all this good feedback about Wisper bikes, and our company... seems we are doing a good job :-) Yes, we also sell conversion kits, 24v10ah batt's, dapu controller and compatible front motor... For NZ hills, I'd still recommend a 905 city S or Sport, with the 14ah battery. The larger battery holds voltage better under hig load... meaning, a little more (about 10%) grunt on the hills than the 8ah. Yes, I've a few cycle analysts on different bikes for testing peak current, etc... very handy. ps. sorry, I don't chat often on this... I've so many balls in the air, even this reply is a luxury... so, if I don't reply, please don't be offended... off to meet Govt around the proposed NZ National cycleway and how important intergrating ebike use will be to open useage of the cycleway to a wider age and fitness range... exciting.
  5. oh, I see about why I'm not on the main map... that's ok. many thanks. anthony
  6. yes, it is lovely here... best climate in NZ, great fishing, surfing, etc.... and eBiking through wonderful bush tracks only a few km freom where we live! though we do live in the centre of a major volcanic zone... so, if you don't hear from me again, you will know why!!
  7. ebiker in NZ Hi there, can you also add me into the map as a Wisper 905SE owner in Whakatane, New Zealand!! cheers...
  8. NZ on the map HI there, wondering if someone could pop me on the map as the southern-most wisper eBikes ... we are electricbikes.co.nz - Electric Bikes, Kits, Ebikes and More ! - Home ( Whakatane, New Zealand ) And, from what David tells, we are one of the top wisper sellers globally... not bad for a lil' country of 4 million! Love the bikes. love ebIking in general... puts the fun back into it.
