  1. I normally use an iPad, but I've just googled Woosh on a Windows 8 laptop, followed the links to your online shop, and it still says "next delivery 28 July"....very strange.
  2. I'm not sure if Eclipse include free UK delivery. Woosh do, which has to be worth a few ££.
  3. Yes, but the website still says "next delivery 28 July"!
  4. For less than £700 you could do what I did and convert your existing bike.
  5. I recently bought a BBS01 kit from Woosh, and fitted it myself. Before and after purchase Tony has been extremely helpful and responsive, both on this forum and in private correspondence. I had very little prior experience of working on bikes but got on pretty well after some googling and buying a few tools from Halfords. If you get stuck (as I did a couple of times) you are in the right place (here) to find help. Go for it!
  6. Tony (and others), can you please explain to me how to connect the motor to the battery? The male pin on the blue (battery) wire is smaller than the socket on the black (motor) wire. You've supplied an extra (small size) connector and some heatshrink but I'm not sure how to proceed. Thanks!
  7. Can I mount the wheel speed sensor back-to-front? Clearances are better this way round, and it uses up some of the excess cable length.
  8. Now that I look at the levers in the kit, mine are like that too. But I'm sure they could be used, by mounting the sensor in a bracket attached to the brake master cylinder and having the plunger push against a bracket attached to the brake lever. Wish I'd done that before spending dosh on the magnetic ones.
  9. Didn't think of that, do they work on the same principle? Would have save me some cash.
  10. I think a single bend is the limit of my fabricating ability! It actually feels pretty stiff and secure, and weighs next to nothing. If the double-sided foam tape fails with age, the sensor would still be retained by its cable.
  11. This pic shows the motion sensor installation on the left-hand brake lever. The right hand is the same. Bracketry cobbled from 22 swg ali sheet. Sensors bought from Eclipse.
  12. One place you can get alternative chain rings is EM3ev
  13. I gave it a good clout, with a biggish hammer via a piece of round bar, but made almost no impression. The wall of the tube must be quite thick. So I think I'll stick with my previous plan of a spacer. The downside of this is that there's less of the Bafang spigot protruding through the bottom bracket, but still just about enough to get both nuts on it. Also the triangular support plate needs spacers, so its two 6 mm cap screws don't engage quite as far as they should, but still just about enough. I might get some slightly longer screws to be safe.
  14. I use a Zefal mirror of some sort, which is fine, but it's forever getting knocked out of position. Does anyone do a detented mounting (like you get on car door mirrors) which will let the mirror click back into position?
  15. Ok, ok, I'll give it a gentle tap...
  16. But wouldn't they do that before welding the tubes together? I don't want to risk cracking or distorting anything (mind you, I used a sledgehammer on the bottom bracket cartridge so I'm a bit inconsistent!)
  17. Here's another pic, with the spacer fitted so a bit of clearance.
  18. Hopefully that has worked - view from underneath, without spacer.
  19. Sorry, I'm struggling to attach a pic. Trying to "upload a file" (on my iPad) but it won't let me choose anything...
  20. I've found a minor snag when offering up the motor for the first time: the gear casing on the right hand side of the unit clouts the bike's right-hand chainstay before the unit sits fully home in the bottom bracket. But the old bottom bracket cartridge has a washer (40x35x2.33 mm) which I propose to use with the Bafang - it offsets it slightly to the right and gives about 1.5 mm clearance to the chainstay.
  21. Well, I've stripped all the unnecessary stuff from my old Marin and am ready to start installing the Woosh kit. No major problems so far, apart from the bottom bracket cartridge which was a bitch to remove. But the cheap Halfords remover tool did its job eventually, aided by a big spanner and (not least) a 10 lb sledge hammer.
  22. Michael, thanks, I think I'll send off for one of those stands. I've just been to Halfords and bought an "essential tool kit" plus a couple more tools, which I hope will suffice. Quality of these looks a bit marginal - I hope I don't regret buying them. "Buy cheap, buy twice" as my daughter always chides me.
  23. Thanks for the advice. Do you think it's worth getting a cycle stand, or is that an expensive luxury?
  24. David, that's very kind of you! I'm going to try a couple of bike shops today for the tools, but if I get stuck I'll be in touch. At the moment I'm waiting for the kit to arrive - it's due in the next hour or so.
