  1. Thanks I agree. I presume this extract from the "blurb" ● The product is suitable for 3.7V lithium series multi-platform, 3 string, 4 string, 5 string, 6 string, 7 string and 8 string 9 string 10 string 11 string 12 string 13 string 14 string 15 string - which could be written in double Swahili as far as I'm concerned - means it's OK for my battery as you said. I ask only because it stresses how suitable it is for lead/acid batteries. Thanks again. Dawes 700.
  2. Thanks. At £1.99 I can even afford to mess it up. On a more serious note the green&black wires from the controller connects to the red&black from the voltmeter I assume, but where does the yellow go to? I don't understand the wiring diagram in the 'blurb.' Thanks again. Dawes 700.
  3. Can anybody recommend a combined thumb throttle (left hand pref) and battery condition indicator. At the moment I've got an On/Off switch and a thumb throttle. Indicator lights have failed. Nothing else, pedelecs, brake cut-outs are connected. The kit is an Alien Ocean front wheel 36v conversion. I'm looking for something with the plugs/sockets already fitted as I don't feel confident enough to cut existing fine wires and re-solder. Relevant part of wiring diagram below, - if it's legible! Thanks, ijn advance. Dawes 700
  4. I agree, although I've already pushed, pulled, tugged and wiggled everything in sight. If I do sort it I'll let you know. Thanks again, Dawes 700
  5. The cells used by BGA were Boston Power cells Dawes 700.
  6. See my reply to d8veh. Thanks d8veh I thought, what a good idea, went out yesterday with a voltmeter did about 16 miles, never missed a beat. Damn! I'll get back if/when it happens next. Dawes 700

  8. Hi d8veh I used the term ignition switch as a sort of layman's description for the key operated lock/switch on the side/end of the battery. No, the throttle doesn't have lights and the on/off lights gizmo failed about 6 months ago, so I substituted a simple handle bar mounted on/off switch. PS. Came home bike not having been touched for about 4 hours, switched on - it works but presumably - as previous experiences show - won't last. Dawes 700.
  9. Recently on a 20 mile ride the motor cut out about 5 times but restarted if I switch the 'ignition' key on and off. Checked for loose connections etc and found one I suspected might be dodgy. Soldered, reassembled but same fault. Thinking maybe a faulty 'ignition switch' I bridged the switch, tried this morning, failed after 2 miles and wouldn't restart at all. The electrics are an Alien Ocean front wheel conversion kit about 5 years old. Only an on/off switch and the throttle are connected, no pedelecs, no brake lever cut offs - nothing. The battery was upgraded to 36v 15Ah by Jimmy at BGA in Nov. 2016. Fully charged it puts out 41.2 It's this type of battery although I suspect it's irrelevant Any ideas, suggestions, help, gratefully received. Dawes 700
  10. Decided to abandon sophistication, just bridged red and blue. Works a treat! Thanks again.
  11. d8veh, Thanks for rapid response. Have I got this right? If I simply connect the red and blue that used to go to the meter, then when I switch the battery on, (it's key operated,) nothing will happen until I operated the throttle, with then acts as an accelerator does on an automatic car. If I've got the wrong end of the stick (I'm not much of a technician) then I do understand about putting red and blue through an ON/OFF switch. Thanks again, Dawes 700
  12. In the last 10 days I've lost power 3 times. Having checked for loose/bad connections - couldn't find anything, I think the fault is the King Meter itself. It can't be switched back on unless I press and hold the ON/OFF button for about 5 secs. Before a simple press was all it needed. Logic says it'll go wrong permanently one of these days so buy a new one now. They're easily obtainable from Alibaba, Aliexpress, etc , but in wholesale packs of 50's etc. Question, Anyone else had this problem but sorted it out? Question, Anyone know a stockist preferably UK where I can get a new one without exorbitant shipping costs. Question, Is there another make that performs the same function and is readily available? Mine is one of the earlier ones before a light button was incorporated. RIGHT CLICK HERE Thanks in advance - hopefully! Dawes 700.
