Burisch offroad electric bike, new for £649 on ebay
You are right of course, and thanks for the encouragement. I was in a fairly poor mood when I wrote my last comment and probably making a meal of what should be doable, especially now as Ryan who runs the firm says that the new 2013 bikes' controller has connectors for the motor to controller connections so no need for soldering which is good. Unfortunately I delayed in ordering as I was so busy last week and now they are out of stock until mid to late April of the unlimited controllers but I may be able to source one elsewhere hopefully. Ryan says that the new model does not have any override option or white wire delimitting capacity on it. Quoting from him from an email reply he sent to me, "Unfortunately there is no other way on this 2013 model of de-restricting, the white wire was only appropriate on the 2012 model."

Burisch offroad electric bike, new for £649 on ebay
I asked about them sending a new de-restricted controller and asked them if it fitted like for like and the reply was which has put me off a bit as I am fairly clueless about this sort of thing and have only ever used a soldering gun once in my life (to repair an electric guitar). I wish I'd never bought the bike to be honest. My own fault for not doing proper research I guess. Will just find someone locally I think to fit the new controller. The old folder is still chugging along like a good'n though fortunately, so at least one of my bikes is providing a good experience;)

Burisch offroad electric bike, new for £649 on ebay
I bought the new upgraded model last week, the Burisch medium frame 250GT. After first use I called them to tell them there was a problem with throttle only mode and a couple of days later was told that this is how it is set up and is intentionally so. I questioned it again to the woman on the phone who then sent me a long email quoting EU law etc. and stating again that it was limited in throttle only mode to 6 kph. Here is the entire email copied and pasted Sadly I don't really have the funds to fork out the best part of another hundred quid yet for the new controller and I lack the knowledge to derestrict it myself so hope my old bike carries on for while longer until I can sort something out as I do like the feel and looks of the Burisch a lot.

Burisch offroad electric bike, new for £649 on ebay
I just bought one of these but made the rather silly mistake of not realising that they are limited to only 6mph in throttle only mode which is a bit gutting as I use throttle only most of the time. I have had an elecctric bike for 4 years which I use every day and that did 15mph throttle only so I assumed this would be the same but having read up on the law I think this bike has to conform to EU law cos of it's 250W motor and so throttle only is not allowed, whereas my old bike is conformed to UK law where throttle only is allowed. So for those not up on these things like me be aware of this issue as it's not made clear in the spiel about the bike on ebay or their site. So for now my lovely sexy new bike sits in the garage unused while my four year old battered £400 folder gets to fight another day until I can afford to get the controller changed on the Burisch.

Burisch offroad electric bike, new for £649 on ebay
I quite fancy getting this to replace my 3 year old folding electric bike which isn't wearing too well (and I am in no need of the folding element of it anymore and would prefer to have a more normal looking bike) and this seems to fit the bill. I've only just started looking again at electric bikes though so will look around a bit more over the next few days at what's available. I use throttle only 99% of the time as I suffer with chronic fatigue from long term illness, which is the reason for me getting an electric bike originally a few years back. This bike is aesthetically pleasing, especially at this price but having googled Burisch Synergy it would seem it must be a new brand, possibly developed by the ebayer who is selling them as he trades under that Burisch name. Would love to hear from anyone who has more of an idea of the bike and it's possible merits and weaknesses.
