  1. Will a 50A BMC controller work with a direct drive hub?

    Hi, Purchased a 2nd hand pedelec yesterday, it has a BMC V4 (cruiser) geared hub with a BMC 50A controller and 10Ah 58.8V Lipo battery pack. It is very very cool!! Loads of torque and quiet - but tops out at 34 mph. I think a may want to go a little faster - something like 40-45 MPH. So was considering changing the BMC V4 for either a speed version, or hopefully a direct drive hub (probably a crystralyte). Does anyone know if I'll need to change the controller? I thought I read somewhere the BMC controller will only work with BMC motors... but can't find that thread now.
