  1. The answer to listening to music while riding a bike (if you agree with that sort of thing!) and still be able to here traffic, I had a pair of these for about a year and they work a treat, the sit on your tragus leaving the ear canal fully open and able to here everything around you, volume and quality do suffer a little but if its background music you are after they work a treat! MAD CATZ Airdrives
  2. Hi Ian, good to see you are already enjoying the bike. Have fun! All the Best Alan.
  3. SOLD! Thanks for the interest.
  4. LOL! opps err, yes you know what I mean (sorry David!)
  5. Hi David, sure that's fine, but I will be selling it through ebay as this offers me some protection. Regards Al..
  6. Yup its mine, I've already added it to the classifieds.
  7. Great bike, but I was diagnosed with a Atrial Fibrillation which is not fully under control, I'm having an operation in a few months, but its already been sat in the shed for some time without any use. Its an asset I need to liquidate at the moment. If i return I'll be back on a wisper! worked perfectly for a 28 mile return trip for work.
  8. Well spotted, I've amended it thanks
  9. I've just put my 2008 wisper 905 SE Sport for sale on ebay if your interested. Check out the classifieds section.
  10. My Wisper is up for sale due to diagnosis of heart problem Wisper 905 SE Sport purchased in Aug 2008 less than 9 months old (ridden only 4 due to bad winter!). Battery was replaced due key switch problem 4 months ago so its still relatively new. Complete with mains charger, rear bike rack (never used) tool kit and rear flashing light. Pedelec info... I did replace the brake cables and rear v brake pads + had to re-grease the from wheel bearings as it was squealing at high speed other than that its been fine. See here for info Wisper 905 Se Sport Electric Bike 36v 14ah 50m range on eBay, also, Bikes, Cycling, Sporting Goods (end time 03-May-09 14:40:11 BST)
  11. I find there is a lot of sticky posts in this forum, can we reduce them, or just make them sticky every now and then?
  12. Add a camera to your bike helmet. then you have evidence for the plods. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h17/dodgyal/bbt002_allterraincam_1.jpg
  13. What about hub motor, battery and controller all in one hub? No need to buy an electric bike, just a wheel! 25 mile range doubles with pedal assist, 30mph and 10-15 mins to charge. Green Wheel - 3 in 1 wireless electric bicycle hub motor
  14. Saw this on gizmag, not to sure the the hub battery, but I suppose it keeps the centre of gravity low! E+ Electric Bike - the world's most advanced electric bicycle?
  15. But were not talking about cyclists, were talking about ebikers who could be as young as 12! ebikes haven't got become (fully) mainstream yet so I don't think you can comment on the safety statistics and the chances of killing a third party, Plus were talking about 20mph+ ebike that are not even on the road in any kind of quantity. You have car insurance yes? if you are involved in an incident you are covered including liability, what happens when a 12 year old hits a 85 year old on an ebike doing 20MPH+? Rather than look at cyclists you probably need to be somewhere in between mopeds and cyclists for accident statistics. In 2003 (I know old data!) Bicycle deaths 113 (34% under 16) Motorbike deaths 693 (does not comment on moped) 6382 people were seriously injured on foot or on a bicycle. Yes almost no-one is killed by cyclists but in 2003 113 were dead.
  16. Should a bike or e-bike be involved in a serious accident or even death there are other things you should think about. A scene investigator will carefully check the bike to make sure it was road worthy and road legal. Your life insurance and other insurances me be void You may be in court faced with numerous charges Your family may have a stigma attached after you kill someone on your illegal and unfit "motor-bike" But I too still think 15mph is a little slow and agree a new classification between moped and e-bike should be created that deals with the legal, age and responsibility issues. It will be interesting when in a few years e-bikes are as common as bikes.
  17. Halifax insurance told me they don't cover e-bikes because it has a motor on it. The were not willing the discuss the classification system of an e-bike. I'd be careful and make sure the policy wording actually says e-bike or get it in writing if you do want it on a household policy
  18. Lol the properties of newspaper make it an ideal insualtor Yes I did understand what you meant, but pro's dont use heated waistcoats, because pros dont ride e-bikes. So I think my point is still valid ebikes are still a fairly new technology, and I think the market for people wanting to keep warm on them will increase. Which is not something I really suffer from on a standard bike as I'm usually working my arse of anyway. I use the maplin gloves, which work OK with 1300mAh rechargables in, but the technology or battery power is not quite there yet...
  19. Not sure thats true as pro's dont generally use e-bikes, I find the level of excersise on my ebike is consderably less causing the cold to catch up with me, so getting warm and keeping warm tend to be two different things.
  20. Thanks Norman for your prompt attention and getting me back on the road, now I just need to work out what is wrong with the back wheel.
  21. You could always get an inverter to convert 12v to 240v then plug in your mains charger. You would need to make sure it is the right wattage for the charger and if you go over about 300w you need to then attach it direclty to the battery. Heres a 300w one on ebay. Belkin DC to AC converter 300W 12v to 240V camping car on eBay, also, Accessories, Campers, Caravans Motorhomes, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 10-Jan-09 14:17:05 GMT)
  22. Hi David, Yes the lock cylinder has fallen through into the battery. I can't use the bike anymore. I've had no response from Norman yet.
  23. You can buy quick rlease cable ties!
  24. Thanks David, no real noise from the motor when I use the grip with the wheel off the floor. I've sent norman a mail as I have another problem now too.
  25. Thanks Blew it, I'll check my spokes tonight, I have made sure the motor cable is secure, it has a cable tie on already, I checked this when I puchased after reading the forum. Mussels, the noise starts occasional and the faster I go it becomes permanent, it almost sounds bearing related (simmilar to my campervan which also needs its front bearings changing! :o )
