  1. I was wondering if anyone has any experience of this bike? http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/electric-bikes/coyote-connect-folding-electric-bike I'm thinking about getting one. I would need it to assist me up some steep hills. Would it be up to the task? Would it be like pedalling on the flat? I have bad knees so can't put much effort in. BTW I'm about 14 stones.
  2. That's the sort of scenario I find myself in. I want to shed some weight by very mild exercise. It's not that I don't want not to pedal but not pedal under strain & have the option not to pedal when I simply can't.
  3. It's not north face of the Eiger stuff, I don't know the actual steepness but would hedge my bets & say moderate to steep mostly with a bit of very steep thrown in for good measure, I reckon that about 400 or five hundred yards is the maximum length of the slopes.
  4. Kudoscycles, have you anything which would fit the bill as already described plus decent range (15 to 20 miles perhaps on max power) Remember I need it to go up some steep hills without pedalling.
  5. I don't think I'll be able to test ride any bikes but the info I've been given thus far has been most useful. Concluded I'm not looking for out & out powers (1000w) but much torque. Does anyone have any thoughts on specific models of bike which will take my 14 stones worth of burning love up & over the hills? I've just had this thought, it I add another mile or so to my off road commute I will be able to do so over some disused concrete roadway (ww2 vintage) which cuts around the woods, still as hilly but easier on the bike perhaps?
  6. What make is your '750'? The same as in the link provided by d8veh?
  7. Thanks for that. It's just the route to work is offroad & comprises a few steep hills up which I cannot pedal & I thought that level of power would propel me safely without the need for any effort.

Not speed as such just able to go up steep inclines without pedaling or with absolute minimum effort. The route, out of my house & within 400 yards I'll be off road virtually all the way to work but hit a slight incline for half a mile or so before getting to the hilly bit. When off road uphill 15MPH. On road uphill (at 250w setting) the same speed. hope the journey off road should take about twenty to thirty minutes.

Thanks for the friendly welcome cyclezee I now know where I won't be buying my bike from! My bad however for failing to mention the hills (steep hills) I am talking about for my commute are off road woodland paths (I wouldn't be using the full power option on the roads) going off road to/from work means instead of eleven or so miles it would be about five or six. Thanks again for your friendliness though.
  10. Hi everyone. I don't own an ebike but am looking to get one sometime soon. As I suffer with dodgy knees & have to contend with some rather steep hills I will be looking to ask questions. I have my eye on a 1000w model (yes I know about the legal stuff). I want to use the bike for short distance commutes (no more than five or six miles each way) but want to do so with very little or no pedalling - even uphill! I am 5'10, 14 stone. Can anyone recommend a good mountain type electric bike which would act as a reliable primary mode of transport. Thanks in advance for any replies.
