  1. an up date to this thread. because the blue cable coming out of the controller was heat damaged,( turned out just the cables insulation was damaged ) I have bought and fitted a new controller. The speedo and milometer still not registering. good grief.
  2. Hi, the bike is how I purchased it, I would have thought they might have used a better connector on those large cables. especially as one of them wasn't making a good connection.
  3. Hi Neal thank you for your help , if the small white cable in the multi block connector is the speed sensing wire then that makes sense seeing as the large blue cable sheathing was fused to the small white cable sheathing. bit late now so will check it out tomorrow. I will let you know
  4. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/abbott013/20160913_185610.jpg The large blue wire was found to have a loose connector but if you look hard it has started to burn out, it had stuck to the small white cable on the multi block connector. The large green yellow and blue cables and the multi block connector all feed the rear wheel motor.
  5. Great idea on the disc sensor..

  7. update, pick up sensor plate is fine, the design will allow it to move if going over bumpy ground. Its only happened once so if it becomes a regular problem I will have to buy a new one or add some sealant of some description to stop it moving. the fault code problem, I have had a look at all the connector blocks, making sure they haven't come apart, no more fault code power restored, but my speedometer has stopped working, good grief
  8. Hi. I have two problems with my Oxygen E Mate. First of is the sensor plate moves, when on holiday it moved so much that power was very intermittent, are there any solutions to this. And just been riding the bike home up a very steep hill when the power cut completely with the display showing the number 36 and a spanner symbol. Please any help would be most welcome
  9. A motorcycle is not a moped, a moped in its definition has a power limit so there is no way you can call it a motorcycle. I would think the same would be true for a pedelec. If the dealers are so knowledgeable why don't they know what classification a pedelec with a 250 w motor rated at over 15 mph is and also motors with a higher wattage. The Sinclair C5 stuck to certain limits, but that was before the EU got involved, have things changed since back in the 80s
  10. Hi I have tried the set button, but the lcd seems to display wheel sizes and circumferences, I can`t seem to get any further ?. As for the speed issue, I managed a indicated 40 mph down hill over the weekend, the bikes so heavy compared to my ultra light mountain bike and faster.
  11. Hello Guys and Girls I am new to the forum and new to e bikes after just recently purchasing a oxygen emate city one week ago. I have read I can make my bike go faster and that is what I am going to do, hopefully with someone's help on here. Please feel free to pm me. The thing I don't understand is, its almost like a paranoia / taboo to talk about derestricting your e bike. I can tune my car / motorcycle so what is going on with e bikes.
