Battery Tester, professional eBike battery capacity diagnostic machine
Used but in perfect condition Batterytester NL AT01 with various connectors including the (£150.00 extra) Bosch Active, Performance & CX testing module, this is a very versatile piece of equipment, about £1500 new. I have never used the PC software and have only used the built in printer but you can download the software from the Batterytester website if you want it. This is for sale due to ill health, can be posted in the original Batterytester packaging or can be seen working Hereford or Ross on Wye area or I can send video. £600.00 ovno. Here is the blurb from the Batterytester.nl website: Including universal test cable (article AT00039), adapter cable (article AT00038) (adapters to be ordered separately), power cable, USB cable, cashier paper. Within the delivery of a Batterytester, a universal test cable is included. With this cable already a lot of e-bike batteries can be tested. Most of the times e-bike batteries can be tested with this universal cable if current can be measured. This does not always apply however. Further you have to notice that it is not always possible to attach the crocodile clips of the universal cable to the e-bike battery poles. That is why we decided to also produce so-called Plug & Play adapters and cables. These can be easily attached to the e-bike battery. Besides Plug & Play adapters and cables we also develop SMART cables and adapters. These are a MUST in order to be able to test an e-bike battery on capacity. Examples of this are Bosch and Yamaha. The Adapter cable comes within the delivery of a Batterytester and fits to different types of specific adapters. The adapters itself have to be ordered separately. The Batterytester PC Programm works with all Windows versions (no Mac). When the Batterytester Software Programme is started and the Batterytester is connected to the PC you can execute Firmware Updates by klicking the Batterytester logo in the Batterytester PC programme. Batterytester is the most extensive battery tester in the market place today. It can test the widest ranges of battery types like led, Lion, NIMH etc. but also has the widest range in Voltage: min3V - max 60V. Batterytester automatically detects current. So the operator does not have to set the Voltage of the battery to be tested. A fully charged battery needs to be connected to the Batterytester, 1 press on a buttuon and the automatic programme is started by which the battery is loaded with a varying current. At the end of the test a print from the Batterytester itself can be made or when connected to a PC a test report can be printed on a A4 page.

Knaap Bike
To be fair, you would be hard pressed to find a 26” wheel bike at £1000 with a battery that large and the ability to carry two, the spec isn’t that bad, I’m not too sure about the riding position, it doesn’t look as though you can adjust the saddle but it looks as though you could go for a single seat and use it like a cargo bike, it depends on whether you like being the centre of attention, it looks like a lot of fun to me.

Brose s motors
I remember reading that Brose were confident that a software update had solved the unreliability issue, a good friend of mine is on his third Brose motor in as many years but he has been assured that Brose has not only fixed the problem but extended the warranty from 2 to 4 years, he’s still hanging on to his old Bosch CX motor bike though as it has proved noisier but far more reliable than the Brose.

Bosch Motor shutdown, Error 503, get you home only.
Returning to the Bosch ‘get you home’ mode I was under the impression that this was a part of the Bosch three strikes & you are out policy, the first & second time you dongle or mess with it you can limp to a dealer to have the system reset, the third time and the motor has to go back to Bosch. I find the whole return the motor to Bosch thing frustrating and have commented on this forum in the past about this very subject - my comments weren’t very well received by some forum members, some doubted my integrity. To be fair to Bosch though, they are undoubtedly under pressure to try and stop their motors being altered and modified to enable riders to circumvent the regulations that restrict eBikes to a maximum 25kmh limit, they and the better known brands in Europe are being scrutinised by the regulation makers at the EU, the French have already imposed new legislation https://cyclingindustry.news/french-government-lead-on-e-bike-tuning-with-threat-of-e30000-fine/ and the Dutch have legislated against Speed Pedelecs from using cycle lanes. The eBike take up in the UK has exploded, the media are right behind it and it is only a matter of time before the media turns on it because that’s what they do don’t they? The last thing that I (or Bosch I suspect) want is to end up with eBike access to cycle paths being restricted and for helmets and number plates being made compulsory (the list goes on) because the regulations are being casually disregarded, it’s not as though the 15.5mph cut out stops you going faster you just have to pedal harder, if you cannot or will not pedal harder you have a choice, go slower or buy a speed pedelec. The only questioning of dongles that I have seen in this thread has consistently referred to warranty implications none to either safety or the ethics of tampering with a bike & concealing it from the company that you expect to foot the bill for any warranty repairs. The Bosch or hub motor debate reminds me of my two sons when they were much younger - one was a PlayStation fan, the other an Xbox fan, neither had a good word to say about the others choice but that didn’t stop them playing on each other’s machines. I’ve got a Legio Pro with a generation 3 CX and an EZEGO Commute with a rear hub, both excellent bikes but there is no doubt in my mind that the EZEGO is far more fun than the Legio, as Xavier Hollander once said ‘it’s different strokes for different folks’ so you may feel differently, there is no need for anybody to fall out over it.

Octopus CEPV
Many thanks, never heard of an RCA 10.5 before, found an eBay retailer listing a 24v charger with a range of interchangeable plugs including RCA10.5, very grateful, saved me opening the charger (had assumed it was a ’special’ designed to make sure we had to buy a replacement at an inflated price as you suggested). I had already swapped out the original plug top fuse thanks. Your advice is much appreciated.

Octopus CEPV
I am trying to help a lady with a dead charger for a 24v bike, the only information that I have from her is that it says Octopus CEPV on it, I have attached pictures, I wonder if anybody knows of anything compatible out there, I guess I could buy a generic 24v charger and butcher the leads but don’t really want to do that, any help much appreciated.

Giant Twist Contrioller
I am trying to get a Giant Twist Elite back in operation for a recently bereaved lady, the bike belonged to her late husband, she wants to sell it but it is missing the handlebar display/controller and she cannot find it. I cannot work out which controller it requires as nothing I can see on Google looks the right shape or size. I have attached photos of both the cradle and the badging on the crossbar, I wonder if anybody recognises it and/or has any suggestions about where to obtain one. You would think that the local Giant agent (who sold it to her husband) would be able to help - they didn’t even notice the controller was missing so that is not the way to go. I would appreciate any help please, John

Loss of function Bosch Vituvia no fault codes
Make sure that the walk assist button is operating freely, I lost all information and control when I inadvertently swivelled the bell bracket up against the button leaving it permanently engaged in my Intuvia.
