  1. You certainly know your stuff D8veh. I'll preserve Thanks for the input.. I'll sign off now, thanks to all who contributed. Happy Easter........
  2. Yes thanks, good point that about the needle small pin,, I did know but didn't come to me st that time. I've ordered a 9 pin ext lead of Amz idea is ill connect it my oxygen to eliminate the hub using the Oxygen controller. Any problems you can think of by doing this???
  3. Thanks all. When I put the black wire from meter on controller negative I get 10 k ish.on all three phases via 9 pin connector large holes in connector. When I reverse meter wires as instructed if I read this right, I get open circuit. Made sure probed were seated correctly. Can't find , or at least don't know which are hall wires. I can get 5 v via negative and small yellow. I've included photos. If this helps I get flashing light from crank sensor when turned. Chris
  4. Thanks thelarkbox, I'll do that..
  5. Thanks Neath and D8veh, I’m on it, will get back to you when tested, I’m busy today till Thursday, I’m judging the ’Easter’ decorated egg in schools. Be on it Thursday..
  6. Thanks to all for responding, your all amazing. The batter charges ok to 42v how would I test the MOSFETs, and Halls? Whatever they are. The controller is covered in sort of soft rubber. Which breaks away easy. I've uncovered the MOSFETs, but don't know how to test them. I've multimeter each of the three pins on all 4 MOSFETs every which way and got no voltage. Does the crank have to turn to get voltage. Difficult had to turn battery connection 180 and balance battery on paint tins to reach, then test pins. Need another pair of hands.. I'll upload more photos tomorrow. Help is great. I
  7. Hi all pedelers, it’s been a while, still got Oxgen MTB circa 2015, keep replacing batteries now on Yose power x2 one slung under down tube as a spare. Question I’ve been given a Swift think Halfords? Headset lights up but no power to hub motor, I’m ok with these hubs having re wired my oxygen hub recently, and replaced all bearings. The controller is one of these, see photos, LSW06-HLK1AFSB-U 36v 15 amp Are these available in uk, plenty on US EBay, , can anyone suggest an alternative, possibly with the same hub connection think 9 pin . Don’t want to spend lots as really only need as spare bike. I’m happy to cobble something together if needs must. Thanks for any assistance..
  8. All good advice Waspy, and all,,,I’ve done just about all suggested, I always go out in Hi-Vis yellow with flashing lights, hopefully that’ll help keep PC well away, Can’t understand riders in all black, on any Two wheels… Thanks again all,,,,,,,.,.
  9. That’s interesting Saneagle, I’ll copy this info, for future use. I’ve looked up Hailong battery and it’s similar to Yose power, when I need to I’ll try one. The Oxygen batteries are no longer available, and yes £600. Ouch, I had mine re- celled, but the guy is no longer in business, so I bought a Yose Power for £130 , and adapted the fitting straight forward, ok not as good and most probably not Samsung cells but for £130 really great option, I then bought a second one I carry as a spare reserve tank if you like, where I live it’s all hills, on a good day I’ll get 30 miles, very rarely use more than power 1 in eco mode, depends on the legs, Throttle is a must for traffic lights and hill starts, I love it. As for cable yes I’m sure, two different cables unless I was unfortunate in the manufacturing process, which I doubt, I checked myself and they are definitely different pin out colours. I can’t describe how different only that the colour combination pin out is different, I checked the replacement second cable with the first replacement and the are completely different, also obviously checked against original and different. Edit. Now I think of it the first replacement was different only slightly in the plastic fitting 9 pin end the indentation rings and the arrow marking is different to the original, I’ll see if I still have it and post a photo?
  10. Thanks for all replies you people are amazing, I’ve sorted the problem now all seems ok, throttle and pedal power knocks of around 15/16 mph and dips back in around 14 mph ish,, I think the info from Saneagle regarding two settings did for me, also I THINK maybe I didn’t press SET after making the changes back from zero, I don’t know, and I’m not reversing the procedure to find out, Thanks to All who responded, esuark, waspy, thelarkbox, JohnD135. JohnD135 would you like to publish this letter so I and any others could take advantage of it should the need arise. I’m in the process of trying to obtain a copy Statement from December 2015 to show payment to SYEB, but Barclays Chat is down for some reason, don’t know if this will be possible 10 year old? I bought two Oxygen bikes from South Yorkshire Electric Bikes-both eMates one Step through and my MTB, both been fantastic, I estimate I’ve done well in excess of 10,000 I can’t be accurate because the cumulative miles resets every time I turn it off? Only fault in all that time except for replacing batteries, cassette and chain, and recently replacing wire to motor, I might add that anyone reading this, they are at least two cables for Bafang fun 8 motor, that look the same 9 pin male that look identical, colours are same but configured differently at pin end, however having fitted the wrong one, bike runs but not correctly, replaced with one from Ebike solutions £15.00 perfect, with hindsight anyone doing this need to check pin out with colour, old compared with new. Using multimeter. alls good out most days, either on Honda Cub or E bike, on two wheels the great out doors.
  11. Thanks for confirming this, Saneagle and Esuark, that is my understanding, as mentioned getting the PC to understand this WILL be the problem, I do have the original receipt unfortunately the print has faded considerably, I’ve just replaced the main control wire in the motor and replaced all the bearings which was surprisingly easy. Then to lose the throttle settings is a real downer. in case anyone is wondering I’ve replaced the battery 3 times now I’m on Yose Power, with a spare battery on the Down tube. Anyway we pedal on.
  12. ThanksSaneagle for info, I’ll give it another try tomorrow, As for throttle and the law. I’m under the impression that as my ebike was built and bought before 2016 new regs, as long as THE BIKE couldn’t exceed 15.5 with power even using the throttle I will be legal. I have the original receipt. Grandfather Rights: E-bikes sold before January 1, 2016, with full-speed throttles were generally considered legal, even after the regulations changed, due to "grandfather rights". I would welcome clarification on this, The reason as stated for my issue was I was trying to fix it at 15.5 permanently.
  13. Hi all it’s been some time since I posted, I’ve tried to look through the forum but couldn’t find exact answer. Problem is, I’ve had bike from new Dec 2015, retirement present to myself, m now 75.5 years young for context. Oxygen EMate MTB , with I think the Das-kit display well I know it is but not exact model? I’ve lost the throttle control, it will go into walk mode, can’t figure out how to fix, I know the general settings, in fact I was trying to FIX the speed at 15.5 mph when I lost it. I was in the settings and I was looking for a way to fix ( permanently) the speed at 15.5 so if stopped I was ok the the law, I’m in UK. I took the speed up on the controller to max then down to 0 zero just to see what that would do, as you’ve guessed it was walk mode only, reset to any speed and it would only go at walk speed, messed with it but no joy. Anybody help please I need throttle for hill starts, I rarely use it, maybe more than I think? Bear with me for feedback I have NHS appointments next few days. But I will reply to comments, usually evenings, thanks,,,,,
  14. Hi guys and galls, no answer yet to my question 100mm sensor extension cable for my oxygen MTB I just love this bike, ok it's the first ebike I've owned but it is really, really fun, I can't keep off it, It does something like 25 30 miles, although, I have had 40, all down to terrane, I live in Halifax, Hovis Bread country, if you know what I mean. I now need to use the power( that's why I bought it) bad knees? The only minus points I can think of are,,, 1/ Handlebars too low, see above,, 2/ Nowhere to mount water bottle or pump, have to use cable ties, 3 struggling to fit Mudguards, Blazing Saddles at Hebden Bridge, couldn't find any that would fit, can anyone help with this. 4/ Saddle hopeless, I appreciate not fault of bike. I also bought a EMate ST For my adorable Financial manager, and ironing lady, she loves that as well, the MTB is a lot easier to ride the gearing is much better, and the motor on the ST makes a terrible din when going slow I wonder if there's something wrong with it?
  15. I have a similar problem the cable that is attached to my display is stopping me from raising the bars on my new Oxygen MTB, although it has a plug on , I need a 100mm extension.
  16. Hi Phill, and all, today Thursday I had my first ride on my new Oxygen E mate MTB, first 10 yards something clicking, turns out was front brake cable, (hydraulic brakes) was rubbing on spokes, soon fixed with cable tie, so off I go up to Ovenden Moor my usual ride on Giant CSR3, up towards the turbines 3.5 miles to turbines, the wind was blowing sideways, blew me all over the place, normally it would have been to bad to proceed, but I was keen to try my new bike, which performed a dream, loads of power into the wind, I got as far as the reservoir and decided it was to dangerous to continue, so turned back to home, another 3.5 miles however this was all downhill almost, well at least 3 miles. So did I cycle 7 miles, or did I cycle 3.5 miles and free wheeled the rest. On another note, I loaned a kalkhoff last week and cycled up Stocks Lane, on that bike Even with full power assist I had to stop 4 times, on the Oxygen I didn't have to stop at all, I'm not saying one bike is better than the other, I am saying the Oxygen was easier on the legs. However the saddle was/is atrocious, the on line instruction manual says the saddle post is 30.9, however on the post it says 30.4, it also states that ALL EMate bikes come with suspension seat posts, mine doesn't have one, ?.. I'm not technically minded when it comes to bikes, or E bikes, I'm struggling raising the handlebars on my CSR3, I used to just undo the crown nut hit it with something, and hey presto adjustment, however my first impressions of the Oxygen is,,its amazing..long may it reign... Friday update prior to posting, just been out done 5 miles mostly off road, handlebars again too low, so need to gen up on how to raise them.
  17. HX2 Calderdale yes please place me on the map. Thanks
  18. Thanks for the contact Phill, I actually live at Mount Tabor, so it's over Ovenden Moor, if you don't know it, its the one with the wind turbines on, so into Howarth then Keighley, nice quiet road over the moor go up there on my Giant CSR3, it's a pull going up, but coming back down is worth the effort. Only taken to riding since I became of independent means, in June of this year, so are training the old Pistons, I were having great trouble getting up steam, hence the E bike. It's 10 am just now, hope it stops raining, so I can get out for first time, I will do that run to feel the difference, Up here at Mount Tabor we get the rain before you, it passes us on the way down to you, but our biggest issue is the wind, it don't half blow. Being on top of the hill it's a problem, wherever I go, it's uphill coming back.
  19. Hi all, I'm nervous, this is my first time, I confess, I'm a, EBV (ebike Virgin ) please go easy on me. I live in West Yorkshire Hebden Bridge area, almost? So hills like flag poles, straight up! Plus my legs, have reached that point in their life where they are in need of a full service,in particular the middle UV joints are knackered, I'm hoping to get some new bearings, but there out of stock till don't know when? Just bought two Oxygen bikes, MTB and Diva, from John at WYEB, bought on a whim, so let's hope they are the business. I will post again after first ride
