  1. Old thread but here is an update. So far so good, in 2025, with the last motor replacement on the Agattu (sp) but is only lightly used now. There is an issue with the other Kalkhoff though the battery keeps draining when not in use. Not the usually slow drain but all gone overnight type drain. Someone on a different forum mentioned a possible fault with the motor control circuit board , which they had on a different bike. Has anyone else had that issue with old Impiuse 2 motors?
  2. Thanks. I have sent an email to the BGA Reworking info address.
  3. Thanks I'll put a post up. Is "Jimmy" from the company BGA-Reworking or e-Bike Batteries?
  4. One of my Haibike sDuro Hardtails has just failed after only 500 miles. Took out two batteries and, according to the dealer, the motor from the second bike, a few months out of warranty replacement for two motors and two batteries approx £2280! See this post: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/haibike-sduro-hardseven-battery-protection-activated.32800/#post-462584 Not a happy bunny especially as the original faulty.
  5. I've checked the led fault on one battery and it correlates to "AFE Fault" in the manual. Anyone know what that means?
  6. Thank you both for your info. I'll check the error diagnosis code when I get the bikes back and let you know. The sequence of events was: my partner took the bike for a ride, started ok then the bike switch off, thinking he had hit the off switch by mistake he switched it on again, was ok for a short time before going off again. When I checked the battery it was flashing the E & F LEDs. Thinking it was just a battery fault I put my good battery in and that immediately showed the same error code. So two batteries faulty and one motor likely faulty and my dealer says because I put the faulty battery on the good bike I might have taken that motor out too.
  7. I have an error message on both my Yamaha motor Haibike sDuro Hardsevens. The E and F charge LEDs are flashing apparently this indicates that the protection system has been activated see attached image. I think this has been caused by a faulty motor. Does anyone know if the battery protection can be reset?
  8. Help! We have two Haibike Sduro Hardsevens, whilst away on holiday one stopped working with the battery flashing E and F and would not switch on. Thinking this was a battery fault I swapped that battery for the other and that developed the same fault. I put one battery on charge to see if this would reset the problem, it didn't. I rang the dealer about the problem and tried to reset the batteries with button presses as directed, no effect. On return to the UK I delivered the bikes and batteries to the dealer for assessment and hopefully warranty repair. I've just heard that because the bikes are a few months outside the warranty Raleigh will not repair them for free. I was told the motors of the second bike has been damaged by putting a faulty battery onto that bike and switching it on so the cost I have been quoted for repair of both bikes for two motors and two batteries is .. £2280! The bikes have not been hard used nor abused, mine has covered about 2500miles my partners (the original faulty one) only about 500miles. Both are stored inside the house when not in use. This fault is nothing that we have done surely a motor should last longer than that and how on earth can a motor then take out the other motor via a faulty battery? This doesn't sound right to me. Has anyone had a similar fault of batteries flashing E and F? Can the battery be repaired i.e. an internal fuse be replaced? Does anyone know of a place that could refurb them? Do I have any consumer rights under "Fit for purpose"? I would be grateful for any help and advice as to what to do next. £2280 is more than I paid for one bike originally. Thanks
  9. Update on my Kalkhoff Agattu: I am now on my third motor, replaced under warranty by 50 Cycles. Symptoms - control unit switched on but showed flat battery test ride showing no assist. Battery tested ok, tried in another bike no problem and battery from that other bike tried in defective one with same symptom. According to 50 Cycles the motor was not producing any output. Motor was replaced in Jan/Feb having covered less than 400 miles. Maybe the cause was the lubrication issue I don't know. Thanks to 50cycles I am back enjoying the bike once more. Covered 217 miles on the new motor and counting.
  10. Following up. I ride in Standard and Eco mostly. my commute is pretty flat and I often am riding at a speed beyond the power assist, it is not deregulated. I did think about adjusting the B setting but don't know if it would have the affected the in gear slippage just in smoother gear changes? I have learned to change gears more sympathetically than when I first had the bike and am very sensitive to it now with the problems I am having. Punctures - Put slime in front and back and had two more punctures today I'm beginning to think that tube is perishing! The slime does seem to have healed it up now I have taken the tube out and swished it around a bit but not sure I can trust it on the work run again. Tube in the front seems ok and have invested in two new tubes. Might be travelling on the Kalkhoff for the rest of the week now it is back on the road, puncture resist tyres, belt drive and hub gears surely I can make through the 'gauntlet' with this bike and come out of the other side incident free. Fingers crossed.
  11. @georeghenry Very interesting reading. I also have a Haibike Hardseven Sduro and although it has only covered just over 700 miles I am having lots of trouble with the highest gear. It keeps slipping, not a problem with the indexing as I have checked that. Seems a low mileage to be worn out and the other gears have been fine but maybe it is time to change them. Are the gear cassettes you are using standard or designed for ebikes? I would be interested in an overview bringing together all of your experiences with different cassettes as I have no idea what to look for and would likely buy the same again. I also use my bike for commuting along a mixture of road, canal towpaths and bike path. The other problem I have at the moment is with punctures the canal towpaths appear to be carpeted with thorns at the moment I have had 4 punctures in a couple of days. I'm looking at going tubeless but hadn't considered this slime in tubes. Is that something easy enough to do?
  12. The gear cable of my Agattu broke or came undone last week. Oddly it doesn't have the frayed look of a break and I thought it had just pulled out but I cannot index the gears now I have reattached it so guessing there must be a length missing. I would like to check what the cable - cassette pulley system should look like before I start could anyone photograph and post on here the connection between cable and gears please. I've had a look at various web site and pdf manuals as well but a photograph of the real thing would be useful if poss. Thanks. Also does anyone know if a standard 1.2mm x 2.1m cable inner would do as a replacement like this one: http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-parts/gears-drivetrain-cables/shimano-road-mtb-stainless-steel-inner-gear-cable-1-2x2100mm-single I'm not sure what the ending on the twist grip should be like 'til I dismantle it.
  13. I need to fit a pannier rack to my Haibike HardSeven but don't know which racks will fit it having disc brakes and no forward mounting points. I would appreciate advice on the type to buy.
