  1. I used to have a Phantom 3 Professional which had a follow me mode. I filmed myself and my son biking in the Scottish Highlands and it followed us for about a mile. The 4k video was amazing, just make sure you set the height above telephone wires and trees !! My mate also had a new Range Rover Sport and we got it to follow us ploughing through the snow for about 2 miles.
  2. No, just one battery and 2 bars remaining although the range was down to 4 miles.
  3. Decided to give it a go in TURBO only.....Freaking Awesome ! Did about 27 miles in quite hilly country North of Leeds, on and off road and only in Turbo mode. Although the range only said about 4 miles left when I got back the battery level was still showing 2 bars so I could probably have got quite a bit further , but I didn't want to push it until I know how long those 2 bars will last. Was going to buy a dongle but `I don't think I'll bother now.
  4. Yes my Yamaha consistently says 105 miles in ECO PLUS on a fully charged battery whereas my new Bosch CX 500 gives 61 miles in ECO. But the Bosch has a memory in the motor which takes into account the last ride, which I presume the Yamaha doesn't.
  5. Ah OK thanks, so the initial range is incorrect. Opposite to Yamaha which started high and slowly decreased.
  6. Just a quick question. Put on a fully charged battery and the display says 61 miles range in ECO. Thought this was a bit low compared to my old Haibike which used to show 105 miles in ECO. I realise this is in ideal conditions only but the Bosch website gives 135 miles(218 KM) in ECO in ideal conditions for the Performance Line CX Powerpack 500. Be interested to know what initial range yours shows with a fully charged battery ? https://www.bosch-ebike.com/fileadmin/EBC/downloads/Broschueren/Produktbroschure_Performance_Line_2016_EN.pdf?_=1461339603
  7. The only thing that's stopping me is that I'm a bit loathe to opening up a brand new bike. When I had a Yamaha Haibike I managed to strip a thread on one of the engine mounting bolts whilst installing a dongle.
  8. Not had a Bosch before, is it fairly straight forward ?
  9. Sorry to hijack the post, but has anybody put a dongle on the Trek ?
  10. Just bought a Trek Powerfly FS 9. Great bike to ride and looks fab too. Regarding insurance. Our Lloyds home insurance wouldn't cover eBikes so I cancelled it and changed to Santander who insure it at home and away. They don't cover liability which is fair enough. Only £5 extra a month compared to these specialised bike insurance companies , some of whom were quoting £30 per month for a 4K bike and who don't particularly have good reviews. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/DingleRoad/IMG_3366.jpg http://http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/DingleRoad/IMG_3366.jpg
  11. I've have a Black Ped dongle on my Haibike for a couple of years and wouldn't be with out it. (for off road only use of course !) Easy to fit and works from my iPhone . Works from the light switch.
  12. Yeah I know, got a week before it arrives. Will have to do some serious 'Buttering Up' in the next few days. Bought a Harley a few years ago and had it in the garage a week before I figured a way to break the news ! Anyway, I'm still alive and still buying toys.
  13. Yeah, I only got 10% off mine. I wanted the interest free credit too but then you loose the discount so I'm gonna put it on a new credit card with zero percent on new purchases for two years. :)
  14. Done it !! Ordered one from Chevin Cycles. When the Mrs finds out, I'm dead meat
  15. Ah ok thanks, in fact just found it on the Chevin Cycles site with 10% off just under 4K . Might go down and see them tomorrow.
  16. Was thinking of getting this bike too. Ilkley or Otley is nearer for me but I can't see Trek cycles for sale in Chevin cycles or Ilkley Bikes. Not sure what the Long Travel means , is it meaning longer battery life ?
  17. Thanks for the replies guys, I might just go for the cassette replacement. How much did it cost for the conversion? I'm not that handy so I might buy the parts and get the local bike shop to fit it.
  18. Hi there Sorry, only just seen your post. I have the same as you but 2016 Hard Seven. This jumping in top gear is really pissing me off and I think I might fit your combination. So you've gone from 10 gears to 9. How does that affect the gear selector or am I being thick ! Is it easy enough to fit the 42 tooth chain ring ?
  19. I have an sDuro Full Nine , which BTW is superb ! Recently however the chain has been jumping/slipping only on the top gear (smallest cog) and only when under a lot of pressure, i.e. starting off quickly or hills. I've just replaced the cassette and chain and the bike is as good as new again. The bike has only done about 450 miles. I was wondering whether it is unusual to have to replace the cassette for only 450 miles. I suppose most of my riding has been in top gear and the cogs are more likely to get worn quicker on an ebike are they not ?
  20. During maintenance recently you can see one of the 3 , 22 Newton bolts
  21. Hi there, the thread is cut directly into the alloy frame. If the bike shop can't repair it, I'm going to have to think of plan B and buy some M6 nuts and bolts and bolt to the outside of the frame bypassing the frame thread. Won't be pretty but it should do the job.
  22. I used the Lifeline Essential Torque Wrench from Wiggle. It was only £27 but had very good reviews. I've sent it back because I think this caused the problem. I tried it at 5 nm , it didn't release so I pulled harder. I then tried it on an old lawn mower and it never released on any setting. So I think I over torqued it just on 5 nm with that piece of junk. Good point, I did grease the thread. Would that have made a difference ?
  23. The 3 bolts that hold the motor into the frame. Yes each says 22 nm around the head of the bolt.
