I have found the perfect electric cycle
I don't understand this losing a relative in the war thing, implying SW has something against German bikes? its clear to see that SW owns a Haibike, last i heard Haibike was a german company? (don't mention the war... i mentioned it once but i think i got away with it)

Limiting number of posts?
People come and go as with any other forum, we all need a break sometimes, sure the help/advice/knowledge from people who leave will be missed but in time there will be others to fill their shoes, its the way of the world. To leave a forum because of one or two people pissing you off is a bit extreme imho but we all should be free to make that choice. Flud i just think you are trying to sort something that isnt broken (ok maybe a bit) but it will sort itself, it doesnt need name changes, armies of mods or post limits to do that. Enjoying the hassle is probably the wrong word, lets just say i read all of it and none of it bothers me, ya know?

Limiting number of posts?
Interesting concept, kinda like the genie in the lamp, i grant you three posts on this thread! Unworkable and if you dont mind me saying, an absolutely stupid idea, i ask a question and 8 people answer me, i can only interact twice? not to mention thanking them. Flud, the forum works fine as it is, it will sort itself out in time, they always do, if you dont like what someone says just red X them if it makes you feel better, even better, not a feature i would ever use but you could always put them on iggy? Every thread i read on here lately ends up a bitchfest, but you know what? i actually enjoy reading it..kinda spices the place up a bit

High speed accident on a Designer Mercedes Smart eBike
Guys give him a break, hes got a MacBook on a mount on his handlebars that he watches movies on, how on earth was he supposed to see that dog in time? The cyclist should have had a bit more awareness and foresight fair enough, but the dog stepped onto the path without looking, the dog probably liked the designer Daimler-Mercedes™ bike and wanted a closer look? maybe loved it so much it wanted to lick the tyres, we will never know. It wasn't high speed, it was in a park, he almost hit a dog, it happens... How many people here can put their hand up and say they have never came close to a dog/pedestrian while riding in the park? If you guys don't like being trolled then why do you all rise to it? hes only trolling in retaliation to everyone slagging off his bike, we will all defend our choice of bikes won't we? Now, if everyone says he has a nice bike everything will settle down and you can be a big happy family again, off course im biased because I actually do like that bike, I would like it even more if they just put a decent battery and motor on it.

Smart ebike out of production?
Hmm, I like that..oh well, back to the drawing board..Do you think if if I ask them to they would build it and ride it around a while to make sure its working as it should? incase it needs sent back..

Smart ebike out of production?
Thanks for that, I might email my local dealer again to check their prices, should come down if they want them shifted as its old stock..IF theres a 2016 model, or they are stopping them completely. That does sound a good price, will Mercedes UK honour the warranty or does it have to get sent back to Belgium?

Smart ebike out of production?
While looking around for an ebike I stumbled upon this smart bike and really really liked it, I think it does look good and is probably well made, however I decided against it as I just couldn't be bothered with all those commoners gawping at me as I wizzed by, let alone all the people who will hinder me by begging for my autograph as I would have been riding a vastly superior bike to the general riff-raff. Seriously though, I do like it and would buy one right now if I could get it for 1K, the battery put me off though, 10a I believe, is this ok for hilly ground for say 20 miles? is there any upgrade? the brochure I got sent says Power in w --200/250 does this mean I have the option of a 250W ? Basically what im asking is can I get this bike with 250W motor and a 15ah battery for around 1k?

And another which one..sorry :)
Thanks everyone, I might go back to my original plan then, I really like the Carrera Hellcat in Halfords, http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/mountain-bikes/carrera-hellcat-limited-edition-29er-mountain-bike Anyone think this is a good candidate for a kit? and if so, is crank drive ok? Issues are, if I mess with it does it invalidate the warranty? also if I fit an oxydrive kit myself will it also invalidate warranty on that too, as im no mechanic with bikes but Oxydrive seem to insist its fitted by a pro, im no stranger to fixing engines and cars etc but im not a pro. also I emailed them ages ago about when they are getting more in stock and received no reply...but surely there are more kits than Oxydrive? I saw Bionix, pricey but good? Im pretty sure I can cycle the Krieger no problem but what would I look like on it? I know.. but I just don't want to look like a big guy on a small bike, or is it small? I have never seen one in real so cant tell, however I do love the look of it. And what if I buy a Carrera and discover the kits aren't compatible with it? So, Carrera with crank drive kit? or rear hub..front hub? here we go again..lol

And another which one..sorry :)
Hi all, im in the market for a bike but its very difficult for me to actually try any in person so I would be buying blind, initially I was just going to go to Halfords and buy a Carrera Hellfire then buy a kit but the more I look around the more I find myself going round in circles, kit, new bike, second hand bike, kit, crank drive, rear hub, front hub etc etc, I just don't know anymore and would appreciate some input from you guys who have been there-done that. Im 6 foot tall, around 13 stone, I don't cycle on roads, only ever on cycle tracks/forest roads. Terrain is usually more hilly than flat and im not scared to pedal. Preferably bike should freewheel nicely and also pedal nicely with no motor (just incase!) Top speed isn't important but would be nice to get over 17MPH at times, full speed throttle is a bonus but not a requirement, decent mileage is needed though. Budget around 1K. MTB or trekker preferred, no small wheels, folders or step-throughs, hopefully coming with mudguards, stand, rack and lights.. or am I asking too much at this budget? Ok, I like the Woosh Krieger but feel the frame will be too small for me? I like the Kudos Eiger but feel the battery capacity is too small? Love the Cube touring hybrid 400 but its out my budget and not sure its ok for forest tracks? Would appreciate any pointers
