  1. Hi all The kickstand fell off my bike while riding. Does anyone know which one I need to buy that would fit the existing bracket? Its a Wisper 905 from 2019 I have attached a photo of the bracket Many thanks for any advice
  2. OK. So I tried (using this JB Weld Original Cold-Weld 8265-SUK Steel Reinforced Epoxy - Dark Grey (Packaging may vary) : Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools ) Unfortunately, it didnt work. I let it set for 48 hours and then took the bike out and it immediately just broke apart after just a few minutes. Going to have to just buy a new rack. Sigh.
  3. Thank you so much for this suggestion. I will give it a try. How do I put a nail or screw into the mix? Where would it need to be placed? And what size? I had no idea changing the rack was such a big job in that the controller would need to come off. I dont think that is something I could do, so yes perhaps a repair would be easier.
  4. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I an not very savvy with the type of fixes suggested so I doubt I am able to carry them out. The clamp someone asked about it is a fix I tried - a washing machine hose clamp that I hoped would keep the frames bound together along with some tape, but it only lasted a day and then comes loose I will probably have to wait until the stock comes back into Wisper so I can change the whole thing. I dont know how I could use rubber to stop the banging noise but I guess it would help. I will look into the fibreglass suggestion.
  5. Hi all I have a Wisper 2019. In the last year, the rack frame which came as part of the bike has broken on both sides of the bike. This means the whole rack makes a terrible noise every time I ride over the smallest bump in the road, of which there are many in the UK. I spoke to Wisper who informed me that the rack frame is excluded from the warranty. Really don't understand that, as it comes as part of the bike as standard. I was told it would cost £72.50 to buy a replacement and that there is no stock currently. That was a few months ago, I have sent emails recently asking for an update and now Wisper is ignoring me! I have tried holding the two broken parts together with a clasp but it comes loose. I was told it cant be welded either due to the nature of the metal used. I have attached photos of the broken rack frame. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do? Many thanks
  6. Thanks esuark, They do look good. Do they come with brake pads?
  7. Hi all I have a Wisper 905 Torque (2019) and am still using the brakes it came with. I wanted to change to the Tektro Auriga brakes. I have looked online but I am not sure what components I need to buy? Do I need a complete set like this - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tektro-HD-E500-AURIGA-Caliper-Control/dp/B08CDMVCF7/ref=asc_df_B08CDMVCF7/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=463105074895&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4167483822213826625&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045989&hvtargid=pla-942869269843&psc=1 ) Not from there as way too expensive. Or do I require fewer components? Sorry for the noob question. Many thanks for your help
  8. Thanks David Yes, it is indeed my 3rd Wisper! You are right, I am already getting used to the new bike. It is so much more powerful compared to my 2013 bike. I guess I am just too accustomed to the old one, so of course, it will take some adjusting to. It is a joy to ride!
  9. Hi all After my old Wisper 2013 Classic broke down, I recently got a Wisper 905 Torque. I have been riding it over the past few days and wanted to post my thoughts. - The Torque is a big improvement over the Cadense sensor I had on my previous Wisper bike. - The immediate assistance on pedal pressure when moving off is great. - There seems to much less drag when pedalling. - The bike seems lighter and nicer to cycle overall. - The LCD control panel is a nice improvement on the previous panel - The motor is much quieter than my previous bike The negatives are - The motor assistance is not smooth. When it kicks in and out, which happens more or less constantly, it is VERY noticeable. Much more so, than my my previous Wisper bike. At first, I thought this was a fault but it appears that this is just how this model of bike is. - The wisper hydraulic brakes are not good. I have always had Tektro hydraulic brakes, which were fantastic. But, the stopping power of these brakes is not a patch on the Tektro. In fact, I would say that I almost feel unsafe when cycling as I know the braking power is vastly reduced. I may have to just buy new brakes and get rid of these. - There is no longer an on/off switch on the battery charger. You have to switch it off at the mains wall socket. This is a pain as my wall socket is not easily accessible. Not sure why they got rid of the switch on the charger. - There have been occasions when the throttle has not worked, it seemed to be when I had just moved off from a standing position. - I have had to buy a bolted seat clamp, as it comes with a quick release saddle which is perfect for saddle thieves I haven't cycled a long enough distance to fully check the 575 battery, but I cycled for an hour yesterday, and the level is still high. Overall, I am pleased with the bike. The biggest criticism would have to be the motor assistance is far from natural
  10. I have my booked into for repair the second week in July by Wisper dealers that I bought it from originally. I hope the repair bill wont be so high that it would be better to just buy a new bike...
  11. OK. Do you know, what is the purple wire that is not connected to anything for?
  12. I will take a photo. Does that mean that there are 2 problems? The 3 blown MOSFSET and the control panel?
  13. Hi, I managed to get the probes into the back of the conenctors. The reading was 40v. Switching the panel on and off made no difference. The meter stayed at 40v. The control didnt even flash. It usually doesnt flash. only occasionally I noticed a flash but just now it wasn't. Everything just seems dead. What do you think is the problem?
  14. Hi, I am not sure which is the red wire test?
  15. Which are the battery bullet connectors? The ones at the bottom of the battery or where the charger plugs into? I cannot put the meter probes into the battery at the same time as the battery as on the bike as it sits over the connectors. I did put the probes into the sleeves with the battery off the bike and switched the battery on and got a reading as you said, it was 40v.
  16. What does that reading mean?
  17. Results From thick black wire - 09.95 to all all three of the blue yellow and green From thick red - 0.000 for all three
  18. I have attached a photo of the controller. I disconnected the main red and black wires and tried to measure resistance but there was nothing. I am not sure I am doing it correctly. I also notice the 2 purple wires are not connected, but connecting them doesnt seem to make any difference. Not sure what they are. Strangely, while I was messing around with the controller with the meter. I plugged the red and wires back together, and suddenly the bike powered up and seemed to work. But it is now dead again.
  19. OK, so I have opened the controller and disconnected a set of red and black wires. I am not sure what to press on the multimeter. Do I hold I put the meter test leads between the two red connections ? I am using a Tacklife DM01M meter. I have chosen 6M on the meter dial. I am not getting any reading. I think also the battery must be switched on with the bike key? I have tried with it on and off but no difference
  20. Hi VFR - I have a mulimeter. I cannot see how I can open the controller? It is very tightly closed and there is no visible way of opening it? What do you suggest?
  21. Yes you are right. But, if I did manage to do this, and uncovered the fault. I would still have to send the bike back for repairing the fault?
  22. Thanks VFR400. Doing any of what you say is way above me I wouldnt have the first clue. I will have to somehow send the bike to Wisper for repair...
  23. Yes I think I was a little unfair. The bike has lasted me almost 6 years. I was doing some research last night. I saw a bike Vanmoof Electric S2 which looks good but is expensive.. Of course, it doesnt have the same thottle. I will have another look at the Wisper range.
