Sadly I'm inclined to agree on the timescale for our return to full. membership, perhaps a return to the good old "Common Market" could be a more immediate prospect? In the meantime the Brexit voters in Clacton are out celebrating

Flecc, I'm delighted you are still with us, I have been in hospital for almost a year, and many things have happened, worst of all was my dear wife died of dementia in December, I went in with a Liver problem complications, they found my heart was beating irregularly, so four days running they stopped it and started it again. Still got the Brompton and original battery still fine. And last we can see a return to EU membership in couple of years. Perhaps you could start a new thread, "Brexit, an unexpected journey?" I'm sure the boys and girls at Menwith Hill have missed us!

Fear not! I bring good news "Artificial Intelligence will prove not to be a danger to the Human Race" Natural stupidity will do the job quicker. Ah well something to smile at

Thank you for your kind thoughts flecc, I hope you are well too, mine is reasonable, apart from falling off my Ebike when reaching for a crossing button. The bike was at rest, but the front wheel chose to go East, and I went West, then fell backwards onto the road. A couple of cars very kindly stopped and the occupants picked me up. Result was I need a new helmet as the back of it hit the road, bruises back and arms, damaged left thumb, a wounded pride, and a telling off from my daughter and the next door neighbor.

Visiting my wife in the care home today I found the residents all seated in the large lounge with their chairs organised as if in a cinema. The care home had decorated the place to give it a "patriotic" air with flags and bunting and a laid out series of tables with a buffet. The ones that were awake clearly enjoyed watching the coronation on the very large TV on the wall, and all had little Union Jack flags to wave. It was very pleasing to see that the staff had made such an effort to add the sense of occasion for the residents. I had to sit through an hour or so of the rubbish, but there was a moment of Karma when Charlie Boy intoned the new ritual words he had introduced into the ceremony "I have come here to serve not to be served" As usual the Beeb commentator had to immediately parrot his words as they inevitably do, but managed to make my day by saying "I have come here to be served not to serve" I love it when a plan falls gruesomely in ruins! https://twitter.com/username/status/1654845481296486400
