  4. Hi guys, Pleased to announce that the price of the Frey AM1000 has been slashed from £5,500.00 to £3,499.99 - this is following negotiations with Frey whereby it transpired we had been overcharged. So, the refund we have received from Frey has been passed straight on to the customer... We have the bikes fully assembled onsite and ready to go: https://ebikebatteries.co.uk/product/frey-am1000-mountain-ebike/
  5. If anyone is interested, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are already offering a discount to Pedelecs members and we will look into arranging delivery and/or a further discount on a case by case basis, so please get in touch if you want to discuss further as we will do our best to help in any way possible
  6. Strictly speaking, no. EAPCs – electric bikes or e-bikes – have to meet the following criteria in order to have the same legal standing as regular non-assisted bicycles and to be allowed on roads, bike paths and other places where bicycles are allowed under UK law. Electric assistance can only be provided to a maximum of 25 km/h (15.5 mph) The motor used must be of no more than 250 Watts (maximum continuous rated power) The e-bike’s pedals must be in motion for motor assistance to be provided The rider must be 14 years of age or over Any electric bike that does not meet the EAPC rules is classed as a motorcycle or moped and needs to be registered and taxed and must be type approved. You’ll need a driving licence to ride one and you must wear a crash helmet. Essentially, the Frey AM1000 is a high powered, high speed bike and is aimed at enthusiasts who can put it through its paces off road, on private land (with the landowner's permission of course)
  7. We are a bona fide business registered in the UK and pay all relevant taxes to the UK government. We have stock onsite and having imported these bikes legitimately, we have paid shipping and insurance costs as well as the applicable import duty rate (6%), import VAT (20%) plus an exorbitant anti-dumping tax plus countervailing duty (topping 80%!!!) - on top of the purchase price... We can assure you that the sums involved are eye watering and we simply cannot compete with the figures you mention - unless we sold at a loss We pride ourselves on our exemplary customer service and technical expertise and anyone purchasing from us can do so with the utmost confidence, which is priceless in itself... As a goodwill gesture, we are happy to offer Pedelecs members a 10% discount on the Frey AM1000 as we have always been very favourably received in the community. Presently, the bikes are available for collection only
  8. We are also very impressed with Frey's AM1000 - so much so that we are their UK distributor for this model: https://ebikebatteries.co.uk/product/frey-am1000-mountain-ebike/
  9. Hi Just to let you know we would be able to offer a recelling service should you need it for your existing battery. Appreciate that you're looking for a spare, but at least you know you have an option
  10. Our Frey bikes have just arrived & we are now taking orders
  11. Our Frey electric mountain bikes (2019 AM1000) are enroute...
  12. Hi everyone, Just to let you all know...we're moving into the eBike market ourselves now Our first product will be the impressive electric mountain bike from Frey (2019 AM1000). It will be assembled onsite by our good selves and will come equipped with an additional gear sensor plus the impressive Bafang M620 motor. We are going to be able to retail these bikes at a very competitive price. No ADD or drop shipping issues to worry about when you're dealing with us! Will keep you all posted as this develops. Thanks as always for your support!
  13. Just a quick update regarding Jimmy - he's back in business & ready to build batteries again He's not 100% yet, but Jimmy is a tough cookie & his dedication to the eBike community is legendary as you all know
  14. Just to let you all know: we are now actively in the process of updating our new dedicated website for eBike batteries: http://ebikebatteries.co.uk/ Please check it out when you have a chance!
  15. Hi all, Just to let you know: we are fully stocked up at the moment, but we did become disillusioned with the way eBay & Amazon treat sellers & we wanted to encourage buyers to contact us directly to avail of the best deals!
  16. We recently had the honour of being approached by the Cambridge University Eco Racing team (www.cuer.co.uk) to build a battery pack for a solar-powered vehicle. CUER is a student organisation which builds solar powered vehicles to race in the World Solar Challenge (https://www.worldsolarchallenge.org/event-information). The next race will take place in Australia later this year and this was an exciting project which we just had to get involved in:) The brief was to build a new battery pack, consisting of 408 lithium-ion cells (Panasonic NCR18650GA, 34 series by 12 parallel). Our response was to build a battery pack using copper interconnects welded by the unique Sunstone Engineering 250i2 EV (http://sunstonewelders.com/applications/batteries/ev-battery-welding/). Copper is the ultimate conductor for battery interconnects and is more than 4 times less resistive than nickel. Potentially all things being equal, a copper interconnected battery would potentially be a winning battery. In any ev, the battery is the heart of the system. With the least resistance of the battery pack, highest power levels will be achieved with less voltage sag and less heat generated by the pack. We were provided with 2000 cells and set about individually testing the IR and storage voltage of each cell and chose those with the same voltage and lowest IR. It was a time consuming exercise to say the least. We also chose the cells with the highest storage voltage. Every little bit helps when it comes to batteries. In short, with such a build, we went to the nth degree to ensure the pack was as well put together as possible. It was a privilege to be asked to build this battery pack and as such, we offered our expertise and materials pro gratis. We wish the team every success and will be keenly following their progress!
  17. Just to let you all know: we've taken delivery of our first order with gearsensor: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gearsensor-for-Bafang-Mid-Drives-BBS-01-BBS02-BBS-HD-Electric-Bike-Kit-Sensor-/232247805405?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
  18. Thanks. In the meantime, take a look at Andy's aptly titled video: Crazy E-Bike Battery!!! The specs are: 72V, 30Ah using copper interconnects - manufactured exclusively by Insat:
