  1. I'm in Bradford. The west side, close to the moors.
  2. It's me again! The bike is somewhere around the 2000 miles mark now. Serviced by the local shop Replaced tyres Replaced brake pads No other work required. I'm considering upgrading to tubeless running because I'm bored of punctures. The bike is still outstanding, I've not noticed any decline in battery capacity. Jay
  3. After about fifteen months of ownership... 1200 miles on the clock. One replaced tyre A few sets of brake pads -turns out that I had leaky calipers, the man in the bike shop says its not uncommon for shimano hydraulics to leak. So uncommon he doesn't even need to do paperwork for shimano to refund him when he does warranty replacements! Electrically absolutely no problem whatsoever. Now I have my brakes working again I'm back in the saddle to work almost every day.
  4. If you've done a big hill press reset to get an update on range. That's always handy
  5. I never thought I'd blow £2k+ on a bike but honestly it's amazing. I love my commute. The whoosh of hitting nearly forty on the way home. The 'waft' up the long hill to work...
  6. Just back from a servicing at the local shop yesterday. 950 miles on the clock now. One new tyre, two sets of brake pads over the past year. Still love it. The electrics have never missed a beat.
  7. I passed the seven hundred miles mark today! Some stats: Top speed - 43mph Average speed - 15mph Crashes - 2 (Ice and 'overestimating my ability' off-road) Repairs - none Worn parts - rear brake pads because I got oil on them The bike is still fantastic and I love my commute to work.
  8. I have a kryptonite D lock. The 'sold secure gold standard' one because that's what the insurance company want. So if insurance is important check their requirements. I also have a six foot cable to use with it.
  9. Having an e-bike has got me out of my 4x4 and onto the bike for my commute to work and for local tasks (exercise class etc). Its turned the fifteen minute commute to/from work from a 'chore' to a pleasure!
  10. I'm looking forward to getting back on my bike. The pains and scabs are healing nicely though the bruise still looks epic! Maybe I'll see if they sell stabilizers for 29"wheels
  11. I thought I'd take my Cube out for a spin at Gisburn forest yesterday. I'm not really an off road rider but since getting the electric it seemed more appealing. Started off having a lovely time riding around bottoms beck (grade blue). It felt easily 'in grade' for me so near the end of the route I took an optional red grade section, 'swoopy'. Started off lovely, nice and straightforward. Then there was a step rocky descent so I walked down it. Found a few shorter ones, did them properly; not too bad. Later there's a section with optional black, I opted for the red! I'm not mad. It was a longer bumpy descent. It took it super steady and was almost at the bottom. I clearly remember thinking "I'm, pleased I made it" when suddenly I find myself airborne heading face first for the muck. So, I end up with a few facial cuts and grazes, bashed am and wrist and have few other aches and grazes. Thankfully, the main damage to my bike is that my bell no longer works! It's not put me off, just reminded me that my mountain skill set does not yet include bikes! (I'm a climber and mountaineer). So, time to learn some basics I think. Jay.
  12. I've a Cube Reaction Race 500. Love it!
  13. Phill, what was the bike you ordered? I notice you're down the road in Kly (I'm in Thornton) which shop did you go to? Jay
  14. Now past three hundred miles. Went for my first 'proper' ride today, trying to find what my range is. I rode 37 miles over the Pennines from W Yorks to Lancs and home. The range counter said I had one mile left. The route was on road, with a slight breeze. There were several hundred metres of ascent in total.
  15. Blue mainly. Not quite park tools blue though
  16. Popped into Lidl today for milk and something for lunch. Had a nosey at the aisle of delights and found a bike workstand £25! -states on the box suitable for E-bikes, up to 30kg. Had to get one! Got it home, tried it out, very impressed, sturdy, adjustable, little magnetic parts tray. Well worth a shot. Jay
  17. I use mine close to using a conventional bike. It's like the power assist settings are chain rings. I tend to cruise about in tour unless there is a hill to be had then I use sport or turbo. I tend to stay in the higher half of the cassette, the lower half will come into play when I'm off road I think. Jay
  18. Two hundred and one miles ridden now. No faults or problems to report. Still enjoying it as much as the first ride out. One minor accident (ice) resulting in a scuffed stand and a torn handlebar grip but thankfully nothing more serious! Its going to the shop for its free first service soon, I don't imagine they'll need to do a great deal. Jay
  19. I love that bit! Cars look astonished. I live at the top of a sizeable hill. It's such fun to overtake old fashioned" cyclists!
  20. Ta! It's a great fun ride isn't it! Do you get to ride it for "fun" much?
  21. What is the rack they're mounted on? I thought about transferring my Blackburn one but it seems too narrow
  22. At the local co-op this afternoon I noticed an electric bike in the rack so I went to have a nosey. Rear hub driven MTB. Spotted the owner in the shop and said hi. Turns out it was a 1kw motor! The conversion done by a mate. Top assist speed of about thirty mph! Now, obviously this is illegal and to be frowned upon and tutted at but, that does sound fun! (Tut, frown etc) The guy said he went for a hub drive over a crank drive because of reliability issues. I've done my googling and the reliability issues of Bosch seen to be fewer than the happy customers.
  23. If be really interested to know how well it tows, and how far the battery goes. I've a hankering for some bike packing but I need to determine the range on the battery, so far I've not had opportunity to clobber it.
  24. Hi, the kick-stand is a Cube one. I got it fitted by the shop so I don't know what model it is. They'll penalty have it on their website somewhere (all terrain cycles) it was about twenty quid. I'm up to about 140 miles now, love it!
  25. I've a pair of giordana full finger gloves. I've had them years and find them really good. Not too hot but wind proof. Took a fall wearing them the other day and they're only slightly scuffed.
