  1. Isn't it the controller that decides how it reacts to the throttle input?. The website states that three of the Kalkhoff models only go up to 4mph. I assume that's because of the controller on those models. A throttle is simply a resistor/potentiometer without any fancy electronics? Or maybe you're saying that the controller on Rab's bike is the same as the controller on the mentioned Kalfhoffs?
  2. Your google powers are weak! I just had a peek on google and found this: 50cycles electric bikes - Panasonic Electric Bike Throttle Kit - Turn your Kalkhoff into an ebike
  3. I think it was Professor Plumb.

  5. I replaced my brakes. I suspect many others have too. There's another thread about the poor brakes in the Wisper Clinic forum here. And just to clarify - the biggest problem with the Wisper brakes was the casing that the levers attach to was plastic. Replacing the entire levers made my brakes more acceptable. But I believe the whole braking system throughout wasn't that great. I'm sure the new Wisper's brakes will be fine.
  6. I bought my Wisper in 2008 and the brakes were awful. It was a well known issue with the Wisper back then. There's a couple of forum topics on the problem. To solve the problem I first replaced the brake cables and that helped a little, then later I replaced the brake levers and that helped a lot. Turns out the old Wisper brake levers were partly plastic - the part that the lever attaches too. So obviously as you squeezed the brake the plastic section would obviously just bend.
  7. That line so made me chuckle. ps - That guy was a really good interviewer!
  8. Looks great. Nice modern style. I bet it's very heavy though. If the battery conks out then you're gonna need a Chinook to airlift you back to base.
  9. Looks nice! I like the sporty saddle and pedals!. And don't forget to make your Wisper Sport more sportier!. No mudguards, reflectors and bike rack in the website images! The kids will go for it!

  11. Well I saw this thread this morning and thought nothing of it. But just now I stumbled upon the quote "It is written." and so looked on Google to see where I had heard it before. Turns it's from the movie "Lawrence of Arabia". So I then found myself reading about Lawrence on Wikipedia and came up on this little fact: So I suppose it does seem inevitable that Karma would eventually catch up on boys on bicycles. It is written!!
  12. nuts! But yeah, just make sure you've got the super brakes to match!
  13. Most front wheel kits look very easy to fit. Especially the ones that use the water bottle fittings for the battery and a power button instead of a throttle. 20 minute job! But I'm sure the guy in the video knew exactly what he was doing and had done it before.
  14. Oooh! Looks very nice!. And I was planning on getting a regular mountain bike and a Bionix kit next Summer. Although admittedly I was thinking of getting a 350W, so the KTM might not be for me. Definitely a nice looking bike though!
