Help with PAS connection...
Thank you guys, it was exactly what you said vfr400, the magnets weren't close enough to the sensor, some hot glue and a few pieces of an old credit done the job perfectly ( for testing at least ) Actually I spoke to soon, it's fine when it's up in my work stand with no jerky behaviour at all, get out onto the road, and the jerks are back ?

Help with PAS connection...
All is working, well kind of. The pas is intermittent, making it very jerky. Any ideas guys ? I'm not sure on the controller mate, it's the sinewave that's included in the 3000w kit. It's only a temp solution, next payday I'm ordering the sabvoton. I just needed a quick plug and play solution in one delivery to get me to work. The summer is almost here and I miss my BBSHD fat bike... This is the kit I'm using... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07672YLMB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Help with PAS connection...
Morning all, I've just installed a 3000w rear hub motor kit, but the PAS sensor was not included, so I sourced one thinking that it would be a simple case of plug and play, boy was I wrong. I've found the correct connector coming from the controller, easy enough, it's the only remaining connector with 3 wires, oh and the manual told me, but the problem I'm having is the wires are different colours, and the both have a male connector. Coming from the PAS sensor from left to right, Y/ R/ B. And from the controller, from left to right, B/ W/ R. Also, one more quick question, coming of the motor there are 2, 6 pin connectors, that I'm assuming are the hall sensors, but on the controller there is only one connection, with one connected everything works fine, but is there a reason why this is so ? Thanks in advance guys...

Starting a new project
I'm in the process of getting a shopping list ready for a greaser cruiser style bike, I've used a BBSHD a few times but really want to try a rear hub kit. I have ordered a 60v 23Ah battery, but I'm stuck on the motor. Option 1 buy a 1000w kit and over volt Option 2 buy a 1500w kit capable of the 60v The 1500w kit I'm interested in is the Pedalease 2 in 1 1500w, I like the idea of not having a separate controller. Any advice guys ?? The lucky donor

Help with motor choice for KMX Cobra
Hi all, after a week of searching I think I've found a motor for my KMX Cobra trike, and I'm after any opinions good or bad on my choice. I've no experience with hub motors, I've only ever used a BBSHD, so any advice would be great. This is the kit, and it's going on a 24" wheel http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122225193749, and I'm going to pair it with a pair of 60v 20Ah batteries, https://pedalease.co.uk/index.php?rt=pr ... y=13172399, for a noob how are my choices, thank you.

Conversion for daily 20 mile commute
I've done about 2500 miles without any brake sensors and have never seen the need eirher, with pedal assist stop pedaling then brake, or if you use a throttle, let go then brake, I'm sure most peoples brains work that way anyway.....

New user - Just set up my 1500w conversion
I had a very similar problem with a Chinese battery, but slightly worse, and a lot closer to the pack, I stripped some of the sleave back, and built it up with solder, and used a good 4 layers of heat shrink 2 of them beinf glue lined and a couple of layers of tape, its all been great ever since.

Recumbent motor options.
Hi there all, I'm currently using a BBSHD on an On One Fatty Trail, with a 48v battery, but, as with all regular bikes you're limited to the size of battery you can either fit into the triangle, on a rear rack ( awful experience with uneven weight, or in a backpack on your back, and with it being my only form of transport, I'd like to be able to do more than roughly 20 miles, keeping the speed at a maximum 0f 20Mph, so that's where I think a recumbent will shine, being able to add a nice big battery box, either under, or behind the seat. But before I fully commit to a couple of months of research, I would like a couple of things answered so i don't waste to much time on the wrong things. Firstly I should mention the make and model bike I'm probably going to opt for, unless anyone can recommend a better option within the price range of about £1000 or less, I'm looking at the KMC Karts Tornado F8 Adults Sports Trike for £900 Tornado F8 Adults Sports Trike https://www.kmxkarts.co.uk/Recumbent-Trikes.aspx, wich after a short search seams to be pretty spot on for the money especially compared to some makes that are out there. I'm primarily going to be riding on roads with the occasional rougher ground just to find a decent area to set up a small camp for a hammock, I'm 5 foot 8 and 14 stone, I'm going from a regular bike to a recumbent due to osteoarthritis in my knees and an old back injury, so the sit down position seems ideal, plus it lends itself well to build a decent size battery box beneath or behind the seat for a good ammount of mileage could be possible. Firstly what type of motor is the best option hub or mid drive, and if it turns out to be a hub motor, should I go for 1 higher powered rear, or 2 smaller powered for dual front wheel drive? If it turns out to be that mid drive is the better option, for the speed I would like that only leaves Cyclone on the table, is it possible to fit them to a recumbent, as the one article I have found the Cyclone is mounted under the seat on what looks to be a second BB housing leaving the front regular drive train untouched. Secondly, am I better of buying it as a complete kit with the motor, controller etc, or should I build a kit myself, thank you guys I look forward to your feedback, and here are the 2 kits I'm currently looking at feedback on both would also be greatly appreciated or if they suck a point towards better would be awesome, I'm looking at spending about £2500 all in, maybe a tad more for something special. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/48v-72v ... 2ea621ded6 https://lunacycle.com/cyclone-mid-drive ... etary-kit/ or the higher powered https://lunacycle.com/cyclone-XL-7500w-ebike-middrive/ paulstung 1 mW Posts: 19 Joined: Mon Jul 18, 2016 8:51 am

Haibike sDuro HardSeven 2016, Front Chainring increase.
A friend of mine bought a Race face 46T 103 bcd, thick thin ring, and he increased his speed to around 30Mph. The most important thing when buying a new ring is the bolt circle diameter.

BBSHD PAS problem
Good evening all, I've had my BBSHD on my fatty trail for about 5 months being powered by a 48v 11.6Ah battery pack, and over the last week I've been having a PAS issue, the issue being, it can all of a sudden just stop working. I can see it happen mainly when I come to a stop at say a junction, or even stop pedaling whilst going down a hill, sometimes I can turn the assist off, push the throttle to full slow down and then turn the PAS setting back up, but more than 90% of the time I have to get of the bike, turn off the battery, and disconnect it, as well as all the other cables on the harness including the speed sensor, and after reconnecting everything it can be hit and miss that it will last until the next time I come to a stop, or stop pedaling, or it can even get me to where I need to go. On my last ride out, I noticed that the black and red Anderson connector was looking a bit worse for wear, and a bit melted, but I had no choice to to use it anyway as I needed to get to work, but when the PAS had its first failure, I went through the steps as mentioned, but the power wouldn't come on, so I took a closer look at the terminals, and they looked a bit more melted than before, but after a quick fiddle I managed to restore power and get to work. So my question is has anyone got any idea of what could be wrong with the PAS, and also could the dodgy connectors be causing the PAS to fail ? I've got a new set of connectors coming, I've gone for XT90's, as far as the bike, I'm using a 42T Race Face chainring with the adapter from Luna, and I've programmed the controller with carls special sauce settings from the ElectricBike-Blog.com, and I've been running those setting since the second week of using the motor, the only other thing, that I've changed or added is a gear shifting sensor, other than that it's a sthe kit comes. Thank you guys and I hope someone can help.

Correct grease for secondary drive on a BBSHD ?
That's awesome, cheers mate.

Correct grease for secondary drive on a BBSHD ?
Cheers mate, that's my thought, something is better than nothing, and at least the white lithium grease that I do have, won't effect the primary nylon drive if it were to get through to the other side. Thanks for the link mate, I've just placed an order, so if they're on the ball with their deliveries it should be here by Wednesday at the latest, so I've only got a 10 mile ride, and a 20 mile ride, between now and then so, I should be golden.

Correct grease for secondary drive on a BBSHD ?
I've been leaning towards the Mobile28, but around 90% of all the threads, posts and videos, say to use moly, but upon reading almost all said it's not nylon safe, and considering the BBS## use materials including nylon in their units, why would they risk it ?

Correct grease for secondary drive on a BBSHD ?
Thank you mate, exactly what I was looking for a direct comparison between the 3. I just need to source some in the UK.

Correct grease for secondary drive on a BBSHD ?
I've been running my BBSHD powered fat bike for 300 miles. and all of a sudden it developed a metal on metal sound, and a slight vibration on the drive side of the motor, so I done the usual and checked with WWW land, and discovered that a lack of, or incorrect grease on the secondary drive, which from the way it feals/sounds, sounded about right. So I took of the cover to be shocked on how little grease there actually was on the drive gear, and what little there is has just been pushed to the edge not coming into anything of any purpose. My problem comes from what grease to use, some say moly grease others say don't use moly as it can get into the primary and degrade the nylon gear. But others say either Mobile28, or Aeroshell 22. What do people here recommend, and I need to use my bike daily for work, and the only grease I've got to hand is white lithium grease, would I be OK to use this for now ? I need to travel about 60 miles, in total, depending on how long delivery of the correct grease takes to arrive. I'm thinking some grease is better than none, and the bulk of the temp solution can always be removed when the correct is applied. Cheers guys.

Dolphin 48v 11.6Ah charging time ?
The problem with both the hobby and the vaping ( 18350, 18650, 26650 ) charger is once they finish the cycle, if left unattended, they start to ever so slowly drain the battery. Personally as a rule I never leave any battery on charge and not be there, never mind leaving it on overnight.

Dolphin 48v 11.6Ah charging time ?
Cheers guys, I was almost starting to panick, right up until the moment when I realised " there's a bloody on of rocker switch " what a complete numpty...It turned out to be fully charged, I'll give an hour or so before the first use, just to make sure the balance side is complete. Is there such a thing as a digital charger, I vape and fly multirotors, and have a IMax, and a XStar charger, and they both have displays so you can see where the battery is during the cycle ? Does the included charger have a full cycle cut off ?

Dolphin 48v 11.6Ah charging time ?
Evening all, I bit the bullet and got myself a BBSHD kit, along with a Dolphin 48v, 11.6Ah battery, but there wasn't enough in it to test the motor/controller, so it needs a charge, but with it being late in the day, I have enough time to get a full charge into it, as I obviously don't want to leave it unattended overnight, or should I just leave it until the morning. The charger is the included 2A, so has anyone got a rough idea on how long it will take to fully charge ? Also one more thing regarding the button and 5 blue LED's, whilst it is on charge will the LED's light in sequence as the battery is charging ? And is it normal when it's plugged in to be charged, the lights, flash on, then off again ? And when the charger is removed the button is for the battery level ? As when I press the button out of the box, and after an hour exactly I'm getting nothing, I thought at least one LED would light up even after just an hour ? Cheers guys.

It affects the law
Wow I could tell you some stories of road tripping around Ibiza when I was 17, on one of those pedal and go peds, they were about £30 a week to hire, with only a passport.
