  1. When you check on the lcd display it tells you how many miles you can get at different settings. In eco plus it says 105 miles, on high I’m sure it says 58 miles I will check. As for 30% over 15 mph no I don’t have a dongle fitted, on the flat I can manage 17mph and I believe the motor cuts off at just over 15mph so it should conserve power? Freewheeling doesn’t use power either, I was off-road 90% of the journey. Tyre pressure is at 43psi and there wasn’t that many hills.
  2. Decided to go for a ride today but I took the battery from my wife’s haibike hard 7 along with me. Good job I did, 29 miles and mine was out of juice, mostly rode on full power but I would say 30% was over 15mph and downhill freewheeling. The bikes are coming up to 2 years old and we only ride in the dry warm weather. So much for the claims of haibike! 105miles on a charge when used in eco plus but it states over 50 miles on full power. Bike has done just over a thousand miles and I rarely run the battery below 40% but today I had it down to the flashing warning on the lcd display. I can think the battery has been charged around 20 times and only been run down to 10% twice Any thoughts on this please Kev
  3. I must admit I did ride off road through a part of woods that's recently been trimmed. Never been through that area before ( nor likely too again! ) I went back in that shed today and tyre was flat again, I missed one of the punctures so that's 3 patches!!!! What do people think of the sticky patches, the type you don't need glue??
  4. is there such a thing as puncture proof tyres? Just had two thornes in my back tyre, had to use a pair of pilars to get them out!! They are scwallbie tyres (don't think I spelt that correctly) but I can remember a friend fitting some Kevlar strips inside the tyres of his bike some years ago and he never got a puncture. Can anyone suggest a good tyre? Kev
  5. I would think any sensible company owner would want to sell as many units/products and spare parts as possible. Think of it like this, if that shop was the only shop selling that particular brand of merchandise, they could charge whatever price they wanted. Yes you could choose to buy a different brand but what if that had to be the brand you needed? Plus I'm a big believer in not ripping people off, there's making a profit and there's taking the piss!! A lot of the time, they take the piss......shame how the world runs on greed.
  6. Been on this site and I've come to conclusion that it's a rubbish shop!!! Most parts for the Haibike range and not avalible to purchase unless you have purchased a bike from them. Why? Do they want to sell parts? Pathetic
  7. only problem with a phone app is.....im on EE and its crap around the Worksop area, once my contract is up, im off somewhere else....having said that, I would prefer a dedicated sat nav....right tool for the right job.
  8. think I posted this in the wrong area but Now me and the wife are actually enjoying riding our ebikes, I'm wanting to buy a cycle sat nav. Am I correct in thinking the units will have all the cycle routes stored on them? and all you do is type in a destination and it shows you a map like a car sat nav does. I've seen a few on the net but I'm a bit confused in what they do, some say `Train` I suppose this is for competition cycling, that's not us, I just want it to show the cycle routes and how to get from A to B.... anyone got any advice on what I should buy thanks Kev

  10. That's the most we've done but to tell you the truth, I could have turned round and done it again!!! It's actually a pleasure to go for a ride.....my last mountain bike did 57 miles in two years !!!!!! I've clocked up over 200 in 3 weeks..
  11. From my house Clumber Park is about 4-5 miles to the lake side (the way we go) then the trip round the lake must be 4 miles, we did that 3 times then disappeared into the woods and just followed the tracks. I've actually been to places today I've never been before!! And I've lived here all my life. It's a great place to cycle round but the lake side run does get busy at weekends.
  12. Thanks, I think the haibike range look like standard mountain bikes, nice and neat especially with the Yamaha set up
  13. Me and the wife did a 32 mile ride today on our haibikes. I can't praise these bikes enough, well made and great styled bike. Rode round our local park for hours passing other cyclist with ease and sometimes twice on the circuit round the lake. Can't wait for batteries to recharge.
  14. I was thinking of one where it lifts the whole bike off the floor, one with the arm on that holds the bike. I've been looking at cycle carriers for tow balls......most of the two bike models only go up to 15kg per bike, the haibike I have is 21kg, or maybe it would be less with the battery off??? hmm...didn't think of that!!
  15. thinking of buying a bike maintenance stand, has anyone got any info or recommendations, obviously I don't want to be paying hundreds of ££ out, £50-70 range.... or has someone got one for sale?? would have to not to far away.... thanks Kev
  16. think I will leave it a while......thanks for the information cheers Kev
  17. yea I was wondering that, but drawing that much out of the battery that quick cant be good for it???? I don't ride that fast anyway but like I said, it would be nice if you could program or ask if they could program a speedbox to 17mph as that would be quite fast enough on a bicycle. I travel much quicker on my motorcycle....lol.
  18. if I can cruise at 17mph that's fast enough.....the fastest I've had is 28mph and that was pedalling flat out (looked a bit silly lol) but I'm in two minds whether to buy one. I think I will ride it a bit more until I get bored, by then they will have a speedbox3!! where you will be able to program your own speed, now that would be good.
  19. Yea thought about that. The new speedbox2 allows you to turn the restrictions on and off via the light button. I was thinking if I ride with the wife I could turn it off, then if I want some speed, turn it on. Apparently if off as a default so that would be OK. Only had the bike 3 weeks so a lot more riding to do yet. I'm loving it, now cycling is a pleasure not a chore.
  20. As I'm new to ebiking can anyone tell me if fitting a deresrictor like the speedbox2 to my Haibike with the Yamaha system damage the motor or electrics. At a comfortable pedal speed in 10th gear, I'm at 17mph just above the cut off for the motor. To get the motor to assist I have to select 8th gear to drop me to 14.5mph. 17 mph feels comfortable for the amount of pedal speed. I was wondering if de restricting the bike would make it so I could average 17mph with assistance, but I don't want to damage a brand new bike. In fact 20 mph max would suit me, I have read the speedbox gives you 30mph which I think is too fast.
  21. hi everyone, me and the wife decided to jump ship and godown the ebike route. Got a pair of Haibike hardsevens the SL model. What a great bike and what an experience. We had a couple of mountain bikes which gathered dust, but we both decided we needed to get out in the fresh air. A trip around our local park saw us both gasping for breath (neither of us is fit!). We then had the oportunity to try the Haibike. After a 20 min ride we decided it was for us. Only had them 3 weeks and I've clocked up nearly 200 miles!! I only did 57 miles on my old bike in two years!! We now try to get out as much as possible and the furthest distance for me was 31 miles in one ride. I could have turned around and done it again no problem. Looking forward to riding the bike much more, and also will be asking questions. Regards Kev
