  1. I won't be relying on the bike, I can get lifts or the train. I think we have gone slightly off topic. I have commuted on a mountain bike for many years in the past so I've got an idea of what can go wrong. Its just electric/battery bikes I don't know. I think we got off on the wrong foot but thanks for your input
  2. Right okay, so Phill is selling the Giant. If its the same bike that Artstu said then I dont like the positioning of the bike. I've tried a road bike before and I didn't get on with it.
  3. If that happens then i'll get it repaired. When I buy a car I don't buy two just in case one fails.
  4. When I said I couldnt find it I was replying to Izzyekerslike who said "search for phill he has a Scott that if you can stretch to it could be just the ticket." I couldn't find the Scott so I'm not sure where the Giant has come from? I don't really see the logic in getting two bikes, that's not the solution I'm after. Thanks anyway.
  5. Thats out of my budget and not the type of bike I like to ride. I started a separate thread as I was being more specific with an actual bike which I wanted opinions on.
  6. Hi All Following on from my thread about doing a 45 mile commute daily I've finally decided I need a battery bike, I did a test run of 21 miles today and I'm buggered! Someone recommended the below bike but before I commit is there anything better out there for the money, 2k is my budget. http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cube-Reaction-Hybrid-HPA-Pro-500-27-5-2017-Electric-Bike_97704.htm What is a 29r? Can I dongle it to make it go faster? Will it do a 45 miles a day?
  7. Charging at work is not going to be an issue
  8. I'm liking the idea of this. My MTB is a cube gtc. So with the dongle I'll get a good speed and the battery will last well? This is all very confusing
  9. The bike I posted in the link isnt road legal? Its not all flat but If it runs out of charge I can take over without a motor can't I?
  10. Any suggestions to what bike? Its going to be all road so a guess a hybrid bike would be best as opposed to mountain bikes which i'm used to. Something no more than £2000 which can have the speed limit removed easily. What sort of speeds can you get with the limiter removed?
  11. I didnt know you had to pedal for the motor to work which is why I'm here :-) but I don't mind having to pedal I was just curious if the bike I posted was capable. I have a motorbike as well as car but my problem is I'm about to lose my licence due the totting up on my licence.
  12. It will be a cycle to work and I can put it on charge through out the day and then a 22.5 mile cycle home. I'm not a stranger to cycling but it has been a while, shouldn't take to long to get back into but its likely to be 5 days a week I'd be doing it. Do you have to spin hard or can it be a leisurely pedal? Do you think the bike I posted would be any good?
  13. Think I might have put this in the wrong place, please move if I have - thanks
