Carrera Croosfire, Cyclotricity Stealth or Woosh Karoo?
hy had crossfire e bike for about 5 months does what it says on tin started of as an unhealthy 21 stone yes thats 21 stone 2 previous heart attacks now thanks to bike 16 stone and falling and now returning to my 33 year old raleigh record road bike feeling a lot healthier............... all of which i put down to crossfire giving me the assistance required to get back into shape, seldom need more than eco mode hills only and despite what ive heard find that riding un assisted gives a good work out. As for cut out thought it happened once but found i had not fully clicked comp back into place which meant it was losing connection on bumps my bad not bikes. All in all cant recomend crosfire enough and you can now change between mph and kph which used to be its downfall. As others have said try a few and then decide which best suits you

Wooohoo there we have it people who make a recommendation do so as they are happy with what they got. Those who go against do so because they have had a different experience. Neither is wrong that's where review sites come in. There's always a wide range of scores as a general rule I try to find a site with a high number of reviews if general reviews above4.3 it's likely to be good below 3.5 I wouldn't use your barge poll to touch it with

Ayr these shops are hard to find on internet tends to be local knowledge. Seems to def be one in gloucester and a ?pop up one in york would imagine they will be spread around the country but are not advertised that well for obvious reasons

It's not currently in lidl shops it's in there clearance shops up here they are called Bargain Base may be called that down south as well.it's almost like entering a shop that's having a jumble sale. Had been in it a few times before I twigged it only had lidl brands in it made no mention that it was linked to lidl which in its case is the shop next door

- Bike workstand and bikelights
If like me you have a lidl clearance shop near you they are currently selling cycle work stations at the clearance price of £10 and cycle lights for £5 I have no idea 're the quality of the workstation which is branded under the powerfix name lidl sold them in their shops for £29+ front light is rechargeable via suplied usb car charger rear light two batteriessupplied. got the lights gob smacked at the amount of light from single led type thingy. Dont know price of lights origonally but for £5 def a bargain. Just checked for reviews on workdstand worst said it had a couple of niggles but was worth the thirty pounds so at a tenner it would appear to be a steal- My precious (golum wants to make it secure)
Certainly looks like a deterrent which is half the battle hopefully they would lòok elsewhere for an easier target. Decided to rebadge mine as a lada f cycle should also have the desired effect- My precious (golum wants to make it secure)
Spoon whittlers of the world your mission should you choose to accept it etc etc is to provide the above jobby jabber to the poor beleaguered cyclist thereby enhancing the security of his cycle- My precious (golum wants to make it secure)
darn it db I've just spent a day trying to source the blooming thing;) and Phil you can't get onto him ROFL already followed your suggestion re the baseball bat j/k on a more serious note have you got the wiring diagram for wiring the seat up to the battery(could be patented as the tootle tickler). I know names shocking other suggestions welcomed:p- My precious (golum wants to make it secure)
Ty Phil will give it a look- Fixes for carerra crossfire cut outs?
Ty bryn sounds good to me hopefully I will get more replies like this but as it was the only real -ve thought I would be best being prepared and checking it out, forewarned is forearmed and I like to be prepared. Wish I had got it prior to increase but as I asked nice man in shop checked internet for halfords deals and gave me10% of thereby negating the recent increase. Halfords take note this man's initiative a) got a sale and b) will mean I think of giving them future custom even if their charges are Slightly higher- Fixes for carerra crossfire cut outs?
Hi took the plunge ordered crossfire e as seemed reasonable spec for price and it gets good reviews. One issue that's frequently reported is cut out. numerous fixes reported but no indication of there longevity. Any owners here that have fixed this problem long term? If so how (pictures may be helpfull). Asking now as Murphy's law seems to attach itself to me with frequency.- My precious (golum wants to make it secure)
Ty Phil had not thought of adding to home insurance mines is at cheap end of market carrera crossfire but £1000 is still a lot of money to a retired old git like me- Time for a tyre change?
seen bald tyres before but never one with a grade 3 pressure sore- My precious (golum wants to make it secure)
Hi Re security looking around for a decent bike lock, would hope to get a safe and secure gold standard one, seen d locks for around £20 that meet this criteria, looking for suggestions or alternatives, aware these cannot stop theft but a better deterrent than tying it to a post with a piece of string with a sign saying please steal me. Also require suggestions re insurance for bike.- To e or not to e ( wouldn't have worked for Will S)
Ty d8ve your a star yup I'm further south auchenleck, new cumnock, dalmellington is my area and now found cycle routes site giving rated routes in my area although there ratings are eratic local knowledge should help in planning. Hopefully halfords will have one of there reductions on the crossfire. E soon as there price increased a month ago and door is now open for them to give a20%price reduction which in reality will be nearer 10%(yup halfords we as consumers are that thick we can't see it coming)if I am wrong I will get it on black Friday or sales following christmas (when it comes to me parting with money remember "it taks a Lang spoon tae sup wi' a fifer") or in English for the unenlightened I may be considered to be as tight as a ducks posterior- e-bikes for mountains
You mention 500 watt motor. My understanding is that this would require to be registered taxed and motd in order to be used legally on road in UK or you risk your driving licence. UK motor max for pedelec is 250 watt. I'm a newbie so may be talking through a large orifice with a sphincter in my nether regions but suggest you check. Apologies in advance if im wrongo_O- To e or not to e ( wouldn't have worked for Will S)
Ty may rE cycle it- To e or not to e ( wouldn't have worked for Will S)
Ty for reply, advise seems good and will be taken on board, still plan to push my limits (but not the bike) as I get a good feeling after what to me is a good workout. Which brings me to my next ? You mentioned the cloch which meant nothing, a quick goggle revealed it's a cycle route created 2010 about 40 miles north of me, would appreciate any info on decent sites showing local cycle routes if possible showing grade of route eg easy, moderate or oh jeeze what have I done. If this should have been done in another thread advise and I will do so in future- To e or not to e ( wouldn't have worked for Will S)
Hi. 61 year old. 2 previous heart attacks rebored and stented, overweight 6foot was 21 stone lol dare I say not as fit as I could be. Plan do something about it. Implementation dug out old Raleigh record not used for thirty years, managed 2 miles 1 mile downhill fast due to weight, forgot to check brakes (an age thing) 1 mile uphill slow due to pushing bike. Assessment need to do more work. Result after 5 month's lost 3and half stone can now manage12 mile cycle slowly (two hour's 45 mins) can cycle up hills in stages refuse to push bike, thought's get an e bike as now fit enough to cycle with the extra weight in unassisted mode until absolutely required. Thinking carrera crossfire reviews generally good for price aware of reported cut out problems but most owners still seem to rate them, aware I should continue to lose weight and general fitness should improve and an ordinary bike might be way forward, however like the thought of battery back up. Does but this make sense would value opinions either way. My part of Ayrshire is either uphill or downhill not much flat around - Bike workstand and bikelights
