1. I think so yes I rode up several small hills - I need to judge slightly bigger ones But changing the handle bars changed my perception of riding on the initially bad bike making it almost acceptable Whether that is "in my mind" or whether the change in my body position affected the power to my legs <shrugs> I can't wait to see how changing the handlebars on the "I quite like this bike" goes
2. I'm not sure I tried a trek and a cube the other day which weren't for me but I forgot to write down what they were I tried several kalkhoff that had bigger motors but I didn't like them (although after he changed the handle bars I could ride the bigger one more easily but it wasn't great) He didn't have a medium of the one I like (only a small) and he thinks I need medium I'm going back to try a whisper and a moustache and a different karkhoff That doesn't answer your question I'm sorry
3. "After more than a year seeking a solution, I imagine Katymac would even accept a bike made of lightweight stale baguettes reinforced by encrusted cheese and particularly fibrous herbs, if it functioned as needed." Well yes, but I'm dairy free too (& it's closer to 3 years in all) Ok today has been enlightening Weight in the middle.changes parking and maneuvering so so much Plus a bike shop that alters the seat without sighing and voluntarily alters the handle bars I tried 4 and oddly the more powerful motors were less comfy - the handlebars adjustment made more difference than the motor size This is interesting https://www.kalkhoff-bikes.com/en_gb/image-3-advance?color_combo=64686&ipmc_frame_shape=52206 But I'm back on Wednesday to try 3 more; I couldnhave tried them today but the motor on a moustache (sp?) cut out and I had to wheel it home using my spare energy And tbh I think it's everything I said I didn't want - which makes me feel very stupid The car door thing is an angle issue i think - we have a ford tourneo connect and the doors are heavy, my daughters car is easier
4. "Lightweight bikes are available but these tend to be sportu road type bikes with minimal battery size and small hubs for the fitter rider who usually only wants light assisstance now and then" this is a missed market, the disabled rider, the older rider, the smaller rider even the pregnant rider need light weight bike - it's about wasting energy for the rider with a chronic illness My daughter riders everywhere, but when she was pregnant, when she is travelling home from a performance/dance show she just wants to whizz home (not speed just ease/lack of effort)
5. Yeah £4k!! I really need to get something sorted I want a bike shaped bike otherwise I'd be sorted - I'm going to be a long time in a wheelchair/scooter so I want my pretty bike now A trike would be heavy as * so it won't increase my mobility & now I can't even open the sodding car door, so driving will only work if there is someone there to let me out ffs Sorry pity party! Seeing/testing a joni at the beginning of July & spending far too long each evening googling bike weights and arguing with idiots who think showing me a bike picture from a magazine (or even the manufacturer's webpage) will make me believe they are actually selling a physical bike!!
6. Apart from the "can't afford it anymore" but What's wrong (for me) with this one https://www.cube.eu/uk-en/cube-kathmandu-hybrid-c-62-slt-400x-stellar-n-origanogreen/812911
7. You guys have all been amazing so far - do you want to hear more planning/building in the future or shall i wait till I have a bike that works?
8. OK I am now pretty set on buying a lightweight stepthrough/low step (god they are hard to find) and adding a motor My favourite is an Islabike Joni, followed by an Islabike Janis However I can't find a Joni in my size! I've been having lovely conversations with a bike shop in "Scotland" who will sell me one but can only give me a photo from a magazine I didn't fall for that!
9. Got a bit distracted by health stuff sorry Back on it!! Woosh Waaaay back when on this thread you posted on this thread about an islabike janice & Gospade mid drive motor https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/looking-for-help-on-which-bike-to-buy.34670/?view=date#post-501087 I wasn't ready to buy at the time & then I've had all that crap with my fazua and my brother You have probably suggested it multiple times but I didn't listen- I'm a bit like that, sorry So reality has kicked in and I can't have what I want So, there are a few Janice's (& an ejanice) available on ebay/marketplace (joni is prettier but rarer there is only a large frame currently on sale) How realistic is it?
10. Ribble are definitely torque sensor Heybike is 19kgs so a saving of 5kgs which is better I guess but a long way to test ride (& seems to be a cadence sensor Looking in to Ebay and kits now (kuts are scary!)
11. So any of those are bad! I can learn I promise!! So I need a list of those that are OK... Plus I need to look at lightweight ladies bikes on Ebay maybe
12. I don't understand the way the motors are described so unless the say torque sensor I won't recognise one when I'm looking online Sorry
13. I'm back (said with a cackling laugh) So I've palmed the green bike off to my husband as I couldn't sell it he thinks it's ok & I'm remortgaging the house to buy a new bike Someone suggested a cube, so I'm looking at them more closely & an estarli too I've downgraded my 20 miles to 15 (Manngingtree and back) each way I still want to be high up, still love my riding position of the Crusa & I want a more central centre of gravity as I still get the train New info, I'm a nana now so I need a baby trailer! Looking at a Croozer I may buy a new battery for the crusa for when I want to go far & wide so I'll be a 2 bike person!!
14. Thanks, I am struggling to sell it - I'll have a go The frame is from a small boutique brand - ATR I cant trade it in locally as the bike shop that offers trade in doesn't sell anything suitable I really have a green elephant in the corner of my spare room! Now looking at a Ribble which is a similar weight bit I have worked out the motor yet
15. Katymac submitted a new listing: [plain]Fazua nearly new for sale[/plain] - [plain]Fazua nearly new for sale[/plain] Learn more about this listing...

19. Oh crap how do I explain why I can't ride it Done minimal miles as the torque doesn't register my input - user error!! I'm pretty disabled so can't pedal enough! Is there a better way of writing that?

21. I have unstable hips and bilateral hip dilysplasia so I tend not to put myself in positions where my leg weight is wholly supported by my hip; another place I have issues is walking downstairs carrying a weight It doesn't cause a dislocation, but I have to be very careful how I put my foot down after so it doesn't trap a nerve
22. I think he felt I was exaggerating, when in fact I was minimising We only see each other every few years, and the last time was at my mums funeral ( in 2021), he thought the physical state I was in was an emotional reaction
23. I'd rather not ride a moped from Ipswich to Liverpool and I don't think they'd let me on the train with it
