I tried that one in my local bike shop and liked it. But it was a hefty £2499

Fireball 500 ebike for 2017
Yes. But the one I saw was the 500 version and only about £1k but why is it opposite?

Many thanks Trevor and everybody else.

Cube Reaction versus Cross Hybrid
Thanks. I will look at that. I don't mind spending an extra £200 if it makes a real difference.

Cube Reaction versus Cross Hybrid
I will stick with Cube. There are enough comments on here to convince me that Cube bikes are both quality and good value.

Thanks - I will check that. 15% off £2k is worth having.

egroover - I have checked your recommendation which looks attractive with its 'commuting' features but it doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere up here.

Cube Reaction versus Cross Hybrid
After trying half a dozen ebikes I had more or less decided to buy the Reaction Hybrid 500 at £1999. However a forum member suggests I look at the Cross Hybrid Pro All Road which is about the same price and has some 'commuting' features which I do like. Unfortunately local dealers do not have it in stock. Does anybody have any experience of this alternative option from Cube and when will it become available.

I did not see the touring one but will go back and have a look on Monday. Either way I think I will go for a Cube bike.

I have test ridden four ebikes in 24 hours. Giant Quick E-1+ was good but for me the pick of the bunch was the Cube Reaction hybrid 500. I think that may well be my final choice

That's good advice. Local bike shops do KTM, Kalkoff, Giant and Cube. slightly further away are dealers for Raleigh, Cityzen, Freego, Haibike etc. as regards surface country roads as well as old (unsurfaced) railway lines is what I mean. Is that clearer. Not rough terrain.
