  1. Interference? Would it help to put that small magnet in the front. . The motor is in the back, I think.. isn't it?
  2. Thank you. . May I ask, do you think the battery on this bike can be replaced down the line? Say may be after two years? I might pass it on I think.
  3. Right beside the bike was a Crossfire which had a nice display for everything. . Come to think of it, any bike computer might just do it. It will have an odometer, speed and everything. Hmm. Now I feel embarrassed now.
  4. My budget has been drastically reduced to £500. After extensive research and concluding that I am a noob , don't have much time to tinker with the bike all the time and wanting a foldable due to lack of space, I have decided to go for Carrera Crosscity Electric Bike. It's an 8 mile commute each way. Together with Zeek.me vouchers, coupled with Quidco, Topcashback and British Cycling discounts, It comes to about £535. . They also have a physical store near my residence and near my work place. Anyways, the only problem for me with this bike is its lack of LCD display and it's archaic LED status indicator (?) Is there a work around this without voiding the warranty please?
  5. http://urbanmover.com/products/powerAssistedBikes/UM44SL.php UM20 ELITE STEP-THROUGH Thanks It does indeed looks nice and reasonably priced at £800 and 9 Ah battery.
  6. Thanks. . I especially like the puncture resistant nature of it.
  7. Do retailers never flush out the 2016 or 2017 models?
  8. Looks smart. . I am new to these product release cycles. May I ask, what sort of timeline it usually takes OEMs to introduce the new systems and for the older systems to go down in price? (Like for example it's usually two to three months after a new release to buy a generation before for iPhones) . I am currently in the market and weight/prices are just silly especially for their 500 Wh batteries.
  9. Jealous. . Oh, how I wish to just sod off , take the bike and go around the world... probably with "Imagine..." on full blast. . Can't wait to do something else other than what I am doing at the moment. Huh.
  10. Interesting you suggest Chinese and the Japanese over European ones. . Bafang, Panasonic, Yamaha, Bosch, Shimano... . Time and time again, I read Bosch and Shimano are the most reliable of the bunch. Then again, where I read them are some questionable dubious blogs.
  11. I have tried to skim through it, can't seem to find much about commuters. Do you think commuting everyday around 12-14 miles (30 miles round trip) each way will put same kind of pressure on the system as emtbs does?
  12. Interesting. Did you service through Bosch? What kind of costs we are talking about here may i ask?
  13. Apologies if this has been discussed to bore already. . I am trying to get a perspective in terms of life of the bike in general. I mean, I have seen bikes handed to the next generation and it just keeps on going. Probably a bit of servicing here and there on the mechanical components but the bikes weigh about a tonne and with a newer cassette installed, it would get a renewal on their life. . I understand electrics won't last that long but lets consider a premium system such as Bosch Active line. It starts off as a premium system from a well reputed support network with a guarantee of probable failure lower in the first two years. . What happens after that? May I ask, has anyone had these kinds of systems beyond their warranty period? Thanks,
  14. Interesting suggestion. . Is that not the kind of lifespan people are usually after form ebikes? Or is it a wishful thinking?
  15. I think you have a point there. . I have been at it for good few weeks now.
