First "off" - ouch!
Kenda that came on the bike - I have since dropped the pressures a tad for winter. @Kininvie - I can't even begin to imagine how much suction was generated onto your saddle at that moment!!

First "off" - ouch!
Now in my defense I think i was doing a reasonable speed, but it seems I underestimated the grip provided by well worn paving flag stones that have a very light misty rain covering. Simple left turn, a little banking and the bike simply slid away from under me as I, rather gracefully hit the deck and slid along said greasy paving like an upturned tortoise! I gotta say over 20kg of ebike landing on you is an interesting experience! (Glad I went for lightweight Abus lock!). Sad to say the queue at the bus stop thought it was interesting enough to just gormlessly stare and, of course, rush to help....NOT! I did laugh to myself and - in all serious - I think I was pretty lucky. The bike looked untouched apart from the handle bar stopper being dislodged - that was it! Well impressed. I could feel pain in my forearm and left shin but wasn't that bad so got back on and rode to work where i checked my arm - bit of light grazing, jacket couple of tiny rips a bit like a mouse had been at it. But it wasn't until a colleague came in and asked how I was that it was suggested I check my leg. What was revealed on my shin can only be described as a second knee - monstrous heamatoma! I had honestly felt fine up to that point but when I saw that - man, I did come over pretty peculiar. Ice pack and elevation and 2 full weeks for it to go down completely. Second one came up on my hip the same day. Lost my bottle a little for the following weeks (especially as I've derestricted the bike) but back to reckless abandon now.....on the road. when it's nice and dry! The bike is going great guns and have converted two colleagues to ebikes who tried it out and promptly went and bought their own. Anyways... Moral of story: I'm staying off paving in the wet - and using the roads - they're made to be grippy! Be careful out there

Another use for Hall effect.... Brilliant!
I know there's a "cost" but surely the drag would be barely detectable? It's like a very small magnetic windmill - still think it's really smart

Another use for Hall effect.... Brilliant!
It's not really Hall effect but anyway I have to say I think this is a very clever idea - the animation shows exactly how it works https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/reelightdenmark/cio-battery-free-bike-light?ref=category_popular

Absolutely - no problem. Many thanks - tripped over the 100 miles mark last night - love this thing!

Perfect thanx - will drop it in at lunchtime if that's OK

A-ha! Think I may have found the problem. I mentioned a click on an earlier post and have noticed it a little more as you stop pedalling hard. Pulled the crank arm sideways yesterday and there is a distinct knock - bit like a clock - noise when you pull the crank arm away from frame then back towards it (fair bit of effort required). There is detectable lateral motion too. This could well be it Video: http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/a527/smashmashups/th_Rio%20crank%20clunk_zps68r1xpiz.mp4 Just as a minor extra slap in the face I had a little difficulty getting the battery out at work and as it released I heard something ping to the floor. Then I noticed a missing screw from the the top power plug/locating plate. See the obvious black hole on the pic. Sods law no sign of the screw on the floor but will have another look on way out. Might stick some thread lock on it to stop another loss. http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/a527/smashmashups/20170619_081111_zpszmuiidc6.jpg

So here's the thing. I installed Strava because I'd seen FB friends posting their runs. I looked it up, saw it did bike rides as well and just installed it. When I first went to record it gave me the option of run or bike. Clearly I have no pretentions of bring some supercyclist. When I chequered flagged the first run the segment comparisons with other users where both an unexpected surprise and eye opener about how slow I was everywhere...apart from the one advantage on Vicarage Hill. Therefore had you have simply asked if I knew there was an ebike category guess what my answer would have been? No. And that is because, actually, I DIDN'T KNOW! Having now dug through I see that via manual activity record there are indeed shedload of different categories including ebike (the last on the list). I do find it slightly amusing that a few of you must've taken the time to go rooting logs and then become outraged at this mistake though! I am sorry my two ride records have destabilized and brought chaos to the entire ranking system and achievements of cyclists everywhere in the Essex area. PS I am genuinely in awe of whoever got up Vicarage Hill segment in 1'20" - incredible.

Tyres at 50psi and no change. But performance isn't suffering as another blinding trip to my mums nursing home today and I posted 4th fastest time for Vicarage Hill this year on Strava and 16th of all time (out of 902) lol! I'm 5 seconds off number 1 for this year so balls out next Saturday hehe! Will pull the cups off when I get a chance, see what they feel like and go from there.

I'm all lubed up! No better, no worse - gut feeling is still that it's bottom bracket related so as I'll have to do maintenance as I go along anyway I'll buy a bottom bracket tool and check out the bearings and crank. I've been doing a lot of reading about pedelec systems etc. and the whole thing now holds no mystery or fear - even the SWX02 is easy to split so much more chilled. I tightened the front wheel quick release the other day and the front hub bearing is very slightly notchy when turning the spindle by hand so I may just have the whole thing apart and grease all the bearings

So if I greased the chain and that gave a temporary improvement that would prove it as chainline?

OK this is the best description I can come up with what’s happening: What Best description is a “Grrrr” feeling through the pedals as the crank passes from horizontal to vertical on the power stroke of either leg – in other words at the point of most load from the leg currently pushing the pedal down. When Only noticeable from 10mph upward from whence it becomes increasingly more noticeable up to 15mph when it is most noticeable. Noticable in gears 7 or 8. Happens with power on Barely noticeable with power off – you’d have to be standing and powering as hard as you can to feel it. Summary It’s load related. It happens when most load is on the pedal from 10mph upward with motor on. I've been reading up a lot on the Bafang/8fun over the weekend and the engine looks pretty simple - as Gaz says there aren't many bearings to check or regrease. What grease is recommended? Lithium? (not the spray stuff - it's crap)

The thread is still here...ok anyway Woosh - no problem will do - thanks. Just completed 15 mile round trip to Benfleet. No issues. Sensation no better no worse. Recorded on Strava but not sure how to share? Used assist 2 or 3 depending and v. occasional throttle on return journey to get past some slow cars (!). Quick question - I assume front wheel bearing are adjustable? Noticed a bit of side to side play when I got home so guessing easy adjustment Started with full charge half battery left according to gauge. Anyway a great ride - bike got attention and discovered car drivers don't like being overtaken on inside...

I really do appreciate you looking at the bike today - I also appreciate it's a difficult thing to detect/deal with. As I've said above I DO (honestly!) love the bike. I do also, however, accept my initial post wasn't necessarily my finest hour so in the interests of all concerned (and also because Hatti is frankly a bit scary! - joke before anyone starts) can I please ask a moderator to delete this thread. Full charge tonight and ride to Benfleet via Vicarage Hill tomorrow and see how we go.

Very disappointing start....
Just popped in to Woosh at lunch time. Was greeted by a lady with opening line "I know who you are - you're the bloke who rubbished us on the forum!". I said I apologise if she felt that but I hoped she could understand my frustration having just spent a grand on a new bike (I have actually been pretty positive elsewhere in this thread!) In fact that was the only apology made - by me. Not one sorry you're having problems, just massive concern about other people hearing about them. Not very professional. Nothing was obvious on the test frame so one of the guys took it for a test ride and said he could feel the vibration through the crank but it was normal with electric bikes. I tried the demonstrator again and there was the tinniest (and I mean tiny) hint of it but nothing like mine. Anyway the final solution offered was it is likely to be chain or gear set and I was told to keep using the bike until it gets worse then they can find the problem and fix it. I've read the refund policy and this would seem to be a minor fault for which they only offer 90% refund in this case.
