  1. Hey guys - sorry I haven't been on here for a while, did I miss anything important?
  2. I'm on the Chain Reaction site and they have two KMC X8 chains, but they both have only 114 links? https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/kmc-x8-93-8-speed-chain/rp-prod187595 Will these do or do I need those extra 4 links?
  3. I've now put about 1,730 miles on my Woosh Rio and recently the gears have been misbehaving. When I change up or down sometimes it doesn't change at all, and then it will jump 2 or 3 gears at once. I asked the resident bike expert here at work and he said I need a new chain. Now, I have never had to buy a chain for a bike before so don't know the difference between a good one and a bad one. Or what length of a chain to buy? With the extra weight of an electric bike do I need a more heavy duty chain? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
  4. My bike now has about 1,700 miles on it, that's a 4 mile commute everyday since I bought it. I'm 42 now Ted, I'm not interested in riding as fast as I can go, I just want to get to work and get home, I take no chances and I wear a helmet everyday. In 1,700 miles the only thing I've had to fix was the cassette, Woosh sent me a new one for about £15, changed it in about 30 minutes....and that it. Other than that my bike has been more reliable that any other vehicle I've ever owned!
  5. Well done Ted, progress at last. I'll also send an email to Paul above echoing your argument to expedite the legislation that has been sitting around since 2016. It will be a great day when we all hear you're back on your bike Ted!
  6. Called Woosh Bikes yesterday at about 10.30am and ordered the part I needed over the phone, it was on my desk at 9.00am this morning! I know I sound like a broken record but the customer service from Woosh really is faultless!
  7. First class customer service from Woosh Bikes as always, I emailed Andy this morning asking for help and he replied with a very detailed description of what I need to fix it and how to go about with pics within an hour! New freewheel now in the post!
  8. It was fine for the first mile of the journey this morning, then with no warning it just stopped turning the back wheel, it was exactly the sensation when you've bumped off a kerb and your chain comes off and you got to pedal and there is zero resistance!
  9. Hi All, I’ve been commuting every day on my Woosh Rio MTB and it has been faultless…..until this morning. I got halfway to work and then I went to move off at a junction and the pedals wouldn’t turn the back wheel. At first I thought the chain had come off but it hadn’t, luckily the battery had plenty of charge and it was mostly downhill so work so I still made it in. I was wondering if any of you could help me diagnose and fix the issue, it feels like it’s freewheeling in both directions? A quick visual inspection shows nothing obvious nor are there any funny or unusual noises? Any advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated…..or else I’ll be walking to walk tomorrow! FYI, I'm in work now but won't be able to get stuck into this until I'm home at about 6pm tonight.
  10. I bought a Nissan Leaf a couple of months ago too, best purchase ever!
  11. I have nearly 1400 miles up on my ebike now, all of it commuting to and from work down here in Derry. I've never had anything said to me yet. I also think it may have something to do with which ebike your riding, if I was on a Stealth Bomber which looks more like a motocross bike then I would fully expect to have words with the local constabulary, my ebike on the other hand has a fully integrated battery so look just like a mountain bike. I also don't ride it much faster than a regular mountain bike anyway which helps keep the attention of the fuzz away!
  12. Both excellent replies, very diplomatic!
