For Sale - Wisper 705 torque
Thanks for reply. Still in BRI but hoping to be let out on Thursday. I've recently been diagnosed with leukaemia so I can't see me riding it again. It's a fabulous bike and the torque drive is a major improvement over the SE. I'll contact you in a day or two. We live in Bromley Heath. Roly

Replacement Freego battery
Sent it to Insat BGA Reworking last Wednesday and it's being returned tomorrow, so an overall 4 working day turnaround. Very impressed with their service and they kept in touch and gave me plenty of progress reports. I went for the 16ah option at £285 and also opted for a new BMS for an additional £25. This will increase the charge to the full 16ah over the original BMS which will only charge to 14ah. Apparently the original BMS in the FreeGo is slightly de-rated to take account of below par cells. This is not to suggest that FreeGo use them as I'm sure that they don't. Thanks to Nealh and gray198 for their input.

Replacement Freego battery
My wife has just bought a Freego Wren. Its a 2006 model with a dead battery which we knew about prior to buying and it was reflected in the price. I've spent the last few hours exploring and am undecided whether to get it re-celled or to buy a replacement. For the new option I've homed in on the Green Cell 14.8 amp in an aluminium case. However the baseplate will need to be changed as the bottom 10mm or so of the existing case is slightly smaller where it recesses into the base plate. Also the Green Cell battery has four connections (two +ve and two -ve). Does this matter, as the existing battery only has two connections? If I go for the re-cell I'll go with the recommendations I found elsewhere on a forum (offhand, can't remember the name of the company). I would appreciate any comments, particularly on The Green Cell replacement as this would be the quickest way to get my wife on the road!

Wisper 705se or Torque
Thanks for all the replies. All very interesting. Shortly after posting I had a call from Neil at Westerleigh, my local stockist, to say he just received a Torque that I might like to try. After a brief test on a local hill we did the deal, so I'm now the owner of a 705 Torque! Can't wait for tomorrow to give it a blast. Lucky Neil, it was the 3rd Wisper that he'd sold today. Roly

Wisper 705se or Torque
I have narrowed down my choice to one or the other of these bikes, but am unsure which one would be best for me. My legs are almost 76 years old and, whilst I am a reasonably fit 145 lbs weight, my legs definitely don't like hills. The reason in buying the bike is to improve my fitness level and extend my range without huffing and puffing at the sight of a hill. I'm not suggesting that I don't want to put any effort into it as this wouldn't achieve my purpose. My local dealer has suggested that the Torque would be best for me, but reading through a load of posts on here I am wondering whether the se would be the more suitable. I realise that the Torque has a cadence setting to ease the pain but presumably it just puts full power into the motor as there don't seem to be any lower settings. As the Torque setting has 4 power levels would the higher settings work in a similar manner to cadence in reducing the pedal pressure? I intend to take both bikes for test rides but would appreciate your thoughts in advance. Thanks, Roly

Wisper 905 torque 575w
David - The pm was sent to Malcolm! It was to discuss his 905 that he's selling. Incidentally, I visited Atmosphere in Bristol last week and spoke to Gordon, who was very helpful. I was planning another visit this week to firm up an order and saw Malcolm's advert in the meantime. In view of advancing years I had decided that a step through might be more suitable, but Malcolm's bike seemed it might be worth looking at. So I'm somewhat undecided at the moment. Roly
