  1. Hi the different pedal assist levels will restrict the current/speed your highest setting by the sound of it is running derestricted. I'm currently running a 250w geared hub with the restriction wire disconnected it does about 21mph on a full charge and takes hills surprisingly well. The grey area you refer to is because the motors are rated at their continuous output but can take more power for when under load. Your controller running 36v at max 14 amps would be about 504w.
  2. Does anyone know where they have hidden the controller I'm assuming inside the battery pack?
  3. My little chinese conversion kit has done 304 miles since I started using it a few weeks ago, hopefully it will last a few thousand or more
  4. I seen one in Edinburgh last week was quite surprised though!
  5. Thanks Andy I'm loving how easy I can get about on it now some big hills about here.
  6. Hi Chris I'm new here too, that's some length of time too have the same bike !
  7. I carry it on my back with a wire running down into the little bag, its only a small 10ah battery I have at the minute too.
  8. I know the bag is meant to be a seat bag but I dont like it there and am planning to change it asap, I am currently carrying my battery in a bag too
  9. Hi everyone my names Chris, I'm from Edinburgh and have just this week got the finishing touch to my ebike converted btwin mountain bike and that was a battery. I have been working on a tight budget and as such got the cheapest kit I could find which is a 250w geared rear hub motor, this is fitted to my b-twin hard tail and it rides great with the kit. Now my eyes are opened to the posibilites of an e-bike I would really like to build an overpowered BBSHD full suspension fun bike, or maybe even a coaxial mid drive from cyclone.. one can only dream for the time being!
