Bafang BBS01 250w mid-drive and 9aH Bottle Battery Road legal
I built this up laster year just before winter and have only managed approx 390miles due to the weather. The motor and battery will still be covered under warranty with the unit being only 6months old. Here is a video of the bike running through the various Pedal Assist modes and gears at over 30mph: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzT0V2U1XEU The bike itself is an upgraded carrera TDF with new Shimano wheels, new gears, a new Genesis handle bar and a Fizik Saddle. The Bafang Mid-Drive is by far the best UK road legal e-bike motor and with this lightweight setup I don't think you will get a faster road legal e-bike. The mid-drive itself gives you a far better normal bike experience over the cheaper wheel hub options. If you don't want high speeds the bike will easily give you 50miles in eco mode. Bafang warranty: http://www.bafang-e.com/en/service/warranty-policy.html The kit is a BBS01 250w which is road legal. If you want to ride off-road the 15.5mph top speed can be removed using the LCD control panel. I have this limit turned off at the moment and as you can see from the video it runs at over 30mph in top gear. I average over 20mph on my 24mile commute and that includes junctions, traffic lights and hills ! It comes with the battery charger and the receipt to validate your warranty. The Bafang motor and battery was £700 when I bought it in September. Ebay listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263571123905?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 Thanks, for looking please feel free to ask questions.

Hi - I'm looking for high speed pedelec commuting
anotherkiwi Thanks for pedal arm link and pointing out the broken images. Do you have to hotrod to increase the amps ? Yeah I get the risks around burning out the motor and I always go to lower gears for starting etc ! spanos thanks for the response and yeah I suspect your right, but its fun trying to get the bike weight down all the same ! I have a 9ah battery so can't really do much in that area. My own weight is probably the real saving that can be made and I can loose that for free !

Hi - I'm looking for high speed pedelec commuting
Hi fellow pelelecs, Im aiming to save the world by commuting around 23miles each way within a set budget and time bracket. The budget is £800 and the time bracket is 1hr ish. So here is my entry. A 7year old carrera TDF with a £699 UK Legal bafang BBS01 (Current total weight is around 15kg). Below is the bike in all its glory and screenshot of my first commute, 1hr 8 with an average of slightly over 20mph. Quite pleased with the result but to bring that time down I need to shed a few more pounds off with out spending too much. 1. New lighter Stem 2. New pedal arms (I assume any will work ?) 3. Custom larger crank (Lekkie if I can find a cheap second hand one) 4. Carbon forks https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2g9Po0btwPyWEVOWEpRUHotUDZHc1pKb2hqaXZfN0dHQ0dv https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2g9Po0btwPyem5CdDNhNTQwOUlXM1hnQXlVTjQxNDdMejRz
