  2. Thanks for that Nealh. What is the reason for only making ebike throttles for 22mm handle bars?
  3. I bought an ebike kit from PSWPower on Aliexpress. The problem I have is that the fixing for the throttle is way too small to fit on my handlebar, and there is also no space for the Dual Hall sensor. I would prefer to keep the original handlebars and not replace them for thinner ones. Are throttles not available in different sizes? I'm not having any luck finding any. The same also goes for the Dual Hall sensor. The bike just doesn't have the clearance for it. Maybe I should have gotten a PAS sensor instead? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  4. Hi all. I have a Bafang SWX02 motor left over from an old kit that I used to have, and I recently bought a new Kunteng (KT) sine-wave controller for it. However, stupidly I did not check the compatibility of the power cables. The Bafang has a 9-pin connector, and the diagram for the controller shows that it has a 'three-phase' connector. I'm not sure if I've got the wrong end of the stick, but it seems that these are my available options: 1. Buy some kind of converter to match them (I havn't had any luck find anything so far). 2. Buy a new motor with a 'three-phase' connector, and then later a new controller with a 9-pin connector (do these exist?) for a separate ebike build (I plan on building more ebikes in the future). 3. (this is the option I'm dreading) Something involving cutting up the cables, and building matching connectors. I'd rather aviod this option, as like I said above, I plan on doing more builds in the near future, so don't mind buying new components. I hope this makes sence. I've also attached an image of the connectors on the motor and controller. Thanks!

I'm in the process of purchasing a motor controller kit from online shop PSWPower, however I'm unsure about which of the four different delivery options to choose from for the UK, which are as follows: CNEUB, 27.35$US, 6-15 Work day(s) HongKong Post Air Mail, 50.09$US, 10-30 Work day(s) HongKong UPS, 36.92$US, 3-5 Work day(s) TNT, 25.82$US, 3-5 Work day(s) I was going to go with the first option, but thought it would be a good idea to check with the good people of the Pedelecs forum, as I know that quite PSWPower is fairly popular on this site. Why would the supplier provide the customer with so many options? How do they differ from the customers point of view? TNT seems like the obvious choise. Thanks.
  7. Hi Nealh. Thanks a lot, that's music to my ears. I will most likely pull the trigger on the KT36v/48v 20A tomorrow, although I'm seeing if I can squeeze in an extra 2A from somewhere. Although, that being said, does the 17A BMS on the Das battery mean that I am bottlenecked to 17A? And is the only way round this to replace it with a new one? If so, I wouldn't mind giving this a go, but probably won't be able to get round to it for a while until I have bought a spot welder, etc. And then I may as well upgrade the cells at the same time, as like you say, the range on it is absolutely terrible. I bought this kit second hand and from what I remember, always struggled to get 30km from it, even in eco mode.

I'm currently injured and won't be able to cycle for a while, so I've been looking at buying a fairly powerful kit (using mainly throttle only), when I remembered that I have this old kit laying around (see attachment), and thought I'd have some christmas fun and turn it into something a bit more exciting. It's a 250w Oxydrive CST kit that comes with a Bafang SWX02 (10) motor, and a 36v 11ah battery. The label on the controller reads 7A, 15A max. From what I've read online, the motor is capable of handling much more power (exactly how much, I'm not sure), so I want to upgrade to a 20A max. controller to give +700w. From what I've read, the silent Kunteng (KT) sine wave controller seems the way to go. Further on in the future I also plan on building a 48V battery pack to take it towards 1000w and increase the max speed. However, there are a few issues that I need some help with: - I'm not sure whether I can reuse my battery, as the controller is built into the component that the battery slides onto. Will there be compatibility issues, or can I somehow bypass the controller? If not, is there a rack without a built-in controller, that is compatible with my battery, or should I just get to building that 48V battery now and forget about the one I have? It would be nice to reuse as many parts as possible. - Also, are there any glaring issues with what I've proposed? Is it destined to fail/blowup? Would I be better off getting a new motor as well? I have been looking at the Q128c. But again, it would be fun to reuse the parts that I already have. Thanks for your time!

    I remember these from Dragon's Den! Think they're a really good idea, because signalling with hands is flawed in the sense that as soon as I put my arms back down, i wonder how many people still know I'm about to turn. Could maneuver the entire turn with one arm, but it feels too dangerous. On the downside, I'm not confident that driver's will honor them. What have peoples experiences so far been? Must be a fair amount of drivers who don't recognise them as indicators, which must affect ones confidence in using them.

  11. Some interesting points of view already! When I asked the question I didn't even take 'cycle paths' into consideration, as I almost always cycle on the road. I've noticed that what constitues a 'cycle path' varies dramatically from city to city and area to area, and i don't think most are fit for purpose, because, as has been pointed out in the comments above, you end up mixing with dog walkers, schools kids, joggers with headphones, etc, but that could be an entirely different rant/topic in itself. Perhaps there should be different speed limits for cycling on the road, and cycling on paths, as people have different requirements. I often think this. I also hate it when a car is stuck behind me and doesn't want to overtake, and a long que of traffic builds up behind me. If we could reduce the relative speed between cars and bikes it would be much easier for them to overtake us, if necessary at all. I feel the same, although I would be comfortable with 30 mph (with disc brakes), which, as it happens, is still not quite as fast as touring cyclists. My thinking is that if they can cycle at those speeds, why cant we? Nail hit on the head.
  12. Hi all, Assuming the UK government came to their senses and decided that the legal speed limit (15.5mph) for ebikes should be increased (maybe a silver lining of Brexit?), what do you think the new speed should be? Genuinely interested in what ebike users think a fair limit would be. Thanks!
