  1. This is what the innards look like !
  2. Thanks for your replies. I have opened the case. The battery pack seems well built. Seems to have a protective layer around the batteries and is shrink wrapped, similar to the vid. Will try and post some pics. Cheers.
  3. Hello, I am fitting a kit to my wife’s road bike and have been considering a soft pack battery to go in a rack top bag. I have a spare hard shell battery and am wondering if I can discard the shell ? As it is the battery is too big to fit in the rack top bag. I have opened the shell and it looks feasible to me but comments for or against would be welcome cheers, Rob
  4. There’s a catch you need to press . When the key is turned and the battery pops out slightly, feel along the bottom edge and you will feel the catch, press it and you can then slide the battery out
  5. I really wanted one of these, mainly because of its looks and weight being quite 'normal', but after a lot of dithering I finally realised that it couldn't do what I needed (Ended up with synapse Neo )
  6. I checked the lcd3 I have and it has the L parameters. L2=1 as you say. If you can spare one of your lcd4s that would be great. Your help is very much appreciated. Thanks.
  7. Thanks for the replies. I double checked the settings before I posted, but I’ll check again. If I recall correctly the P1 setting is 140. I’ll have a look at the lcd3 for the L parameters as soon as I get a chance. Thanks again
  8. Hi Folks, I have an mtb fitted with a Xiongda ywt-06 36v front hub motor, Kt controller and , originally, kt-lcd3 screen. All bought from Xiongda. This was working fine ! Then decided to de-clutter the handlebars, and as I had a Kt-lcd5 that was no longer being used,I swopped it for the lcd3. I went through the p and c parameters and copied the values that are in the lcd3 to the lcd5. Did this manually. Went for a test ride ! It seems to work ok, except the motor cuts out when I get to 7mph. Now I know the easiest thing would be to refit the lcd3 but I would like to use the lcd5 if possible, so any suggestions as to what may be wrong, or more probably ,what I've done wrong ,will be most welcome ! Cheers, Rob
  9. I can't tell when the motor cuts out . Quite often I'll be barrelling along with a big smile and only realise I'm doing all the work when I glance at the speedo ! The only times I notice the weight is setting off with no power and when I (occasionally)get out of the saddle, but I used to do that sort of thing with a 7kg Carbon road bike so unfair to compare them ! Rob
  10. No rattling on mine ! Only problem I've had so far is downshift can be quite clunky when in small chainring on front. This is most likely me being cack-handed ! How did find out about the software update ?
  11. Must have been having a full on 'numpty' day ! Had a go at fitting the full length bluemels mudguards. Fitted quite easily 'cos I had forgotten the stays are adjustable . Then I 'discovered' the front forks are drilled and tapped at the rear,, so I'll try fitting the front one tomorrow !
  12. Meanwhile........has anyone fitted mudguards ? I've tried fitting my race blades but the rear is asymmetrical and I can't get them to sit right. I was going to fit some full length bluemels but there is no facility on the front fork/header tube for the top fixing ! Doh !
  13. I searched and searched for information about fitting lights but could find nothing other than it is pre-wired !
  14. Not quite Snowdonia, it's the Trans Pennine trail near Barnsley!
  15. Hi Bonky, I try to avoid the rain. I don't mind getting wet, but if I get wet and cold it knocks me up for a couple of days. So I use full length SKS bluemels guards over winter . Not had them fitted to the Neo yet, but I've tried them for size and they do fit okay . I also use SKS race blades in the better weather if the forecast is a bit iffy. They're a bit fiddly to set up first off but easy on/off after that. Another guard I've used is the 'AssSaver' ( a somewhat unlovely name !) Stops the stripe up your back and the resulting soggy chammy, providing it's not raining too hard ! This may suggest that I don't like the wet ! Correct! But I love riding me new bike Nev, Love the pic. Was in N Wales in June, had some lovely rides especially the road from Dolgellau up past Cadair Idris. (Didn't have the Neo then, used my front hub conversion Genesis.) Guess what ? I got wet !
  16. That seems likely. Might investigate further. Cheers !
  17. Does anyone know what the length of wire ,which was in the charger box, is for? In the box was the charger, the removeable bridge for rear mudguard and a length of wire which has a small plug on one end and bare wire at t'other (?) Ps had bike 2 weeks now ,it is every bit as good as mentioned previously in this thread. Pps just off for another ride!
  18. Thanks for the part number, I'll probably get a spare set to keep in my saddle bag . That way I won't ever need it ! Bike all sorted, tried it out at shop, everything seems ok. Planning a ride at weekend
  19. That seems quite ridiculous doesn't it ? When I went for my bike the seatpost was badly scratched so they swopped it off another Neo they had in. Assume this is when the seat post bolts weren't tightened enough Taking bike in today to be sorted using bits off this other Neo !
  20. Well, went out on the Neo today. Absolutely loved it. Took it on one of my regular routes and was really pleased with how it performs. Then the saddle fell off ! Had just set off from a junction when I felt the saddle move ,so I stopped and dismounted and the saddle fell off, one of the seat bolts had disappeared! Had to get t'missus to recover me. Will be taking it back to Evans tomorrow to be sorted. Needs the gears sorting as front won't drop onto smaller ring and the back is a bit clunky! I'm guessing the only prep it has had was straightening the handlebars when it came out of the box ! Not been a very good experience shopping at Evans so far, nearly walked out on Sunday but have been wanting this bike for ages and wanted a shop close to home in case anything goes wrong........!
  21. Just joined the Neo 'club' Went for a test ride on Sunday, loved it. Really comfy ,relaxed ride and very smooth to pedal. Oh and it's bright red ! Not been out on it yet as I've been a bit ropey the last couple of days but should manage tomorrow. Can't wait !
  22. I often ride at 20mph on the road, doesn't seem dangerous to me ! The motor cuts out at 15.5mph though !
  23. Thanks both, pity about the 850c,but I will take your advice and stick to a kt lcd. Regards, Rob
  24. Yes ,'twas the buttons that got munched ! The kit was from electricbikeconversions.co.uk who are no longer trading. Don't know who made the motor but the controller and display are kt. Was looking at the kt lcd5 as a replacement,if repairing the buttons is no go as it seems quite a bit smaller than the 3. That 850c looks good though!
  25. For some reason some furry creature of the night decided to 'snack' on my bike ! It chewed lumps out of the saddle, bar tape and the up/ down control for the kt lcd 3 display . Is it possible to just replace the up/down button, which is separate to the display or will I need to buy a new display ? Cheers, Rob
