I live in a rural district. No buses around here. Ou village has no shop to speak of and the nearest petrol station is 4 miles away. I couldn't afford to get by without my bike. Fortunately I am in work and can work from home. I can see why some high earners who can easily afford to run cars would think a bike is just for leisure but i reckon for many a bike is a lifeline.

Juicy wins it for me! I definately agree Tom. Im just short of 2 yrs now with my Sport and no problems of any note. Reliable bike and excellent service. Wish Juicy Bikes and everyone on Pedelecs a brilliant 2011!!

Jackie If tere's anything you want to know about the juicy urban 20" folder just ask - Its almost exactly the same as the free go 20" folder, deadpowerful and i bought 2 last weekend! I am 11 and a half stone and mine pulls me along without pedalling. I've had a juicy sport for 18months and its never let me down. If anything the quality of this folder is even better. Service from them is great and i managed a little discount for 2 (only £25 but got a couple of baskets thrown in as well). I am delighted with them!!

A bit of a day out for you but Buxton's Eco Republic shop will demonstrate their range. I'm going to try a 20" folder there myself today (for My Better Half) and take a closer look at their Solar hot water systems - I've always fancied my own solar system... Maybe see you there. Cheers. Geoff

Jake, I've had my Juicy Sport over a year now and I am still very happy with it - not let me down once! I really should update my review... Ask for one without chunky tyres - they really aren't necessary. If you have any specific questions I'm happy to try and answer - they might help guide my review (if I get around to it) - but I think you've chosen a fine bike.

Well, the frame is quite something! But I think they should focus their efforts on the wheel design. Wheels are just ripe for improving... someone should invent a better wheel... There's a heck of a lot of wheels out there waiting to be re-invented...

I've often wondered why some prefer the motor in the front wheel. Surely the force of the motor will put a great strain on the headset if "pulling" the bike and rider? I'm much happier with the mass being "pushed" via a rear wheel hub motor - They've always been "push-bikes" right? (even with electric power!)

Juicy Bike Sport Review Reviewer: Geoff Purchased From: Juicy bike Purchase price: £ 695 I've had this bike just over two weeks and thought I'd share these comments. Delivery was prompt (Buxton isn't far away from me) and the bike came with the dealer, Bob Wales, who helped assemble and showed me the ropes. The packaging was excellent - thick card board with reinforced corners, bike well protected in plenty of bubblewrap. Bob had charged the battery so before he left everything was tested and I could ride it straight away. On the flat the pedal assist seems to take most of the strain up to about 15 mph and requires very little help in top gear. Up the hills, which are very steep round here in the middle of the Derbyshire Dales, again, I need to put in very little effort, but do need to be in a lower gear. I am really pleased with this bike. I think it looks good and seems an incredible bargain to me. I've seen the same frame used on another range with a weaker battery and motor for almost twice the price. Only gripe I have is with the free rack that came with it, which was a little awkward to fit - I don't really need a rack and I should'nt complain because it came free along with led lights front and back (rear light fitted to rack) and a reasonable little tool kit with allen keys and a little socket set. Also fitted to the bike (which I wouldn't use normally) is a water bottle and holder and a nifty little pump. Tyres are nice and chunky, seat comfy, brake cables all neatly tied, though the front disk brake cable is a little short I think. Overall I think it would be picky of me to give this bike anything less than 10 out of 10. The service in particular was great and Bob is clearly passionate about these bikes - Good luck to him I say!

Tepol I have a similar dilemma: like riding in the hills, but I'm not rich (and not stupid with money as a rule). What do you think of the Juicy bike folder, which is one I'm pondering. They call it an Urban for some reason, but looking at the details it has a 250W motor which I suppose is the measure for hill climbing? Their website: juicybike.co.uk I'd appreciate any thoughts.
