Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500
Update. Had my Cube reaction hybrid pro 500 5 weeks. No problems at all once I had ironed out the pre delivery woes from the apathetic store I got it from. 260 miles and I love the thing. Mostly doing cycle routes, old railways etc but some roads so have front and rear lights, bright ones so I'm seen a little bit better. Wish I'd got a full suspension bike as at speed some trails bounce me about but as a £2000 bike as it is I'm in no way disappointed. I am doing 25/30 mile trips and still having three bars left though I'm not using turbo or emtb much mostly tour and using the smooth shifting gears a lot so figure on a range of 40+ or 25 ish in the woods climbing more. The bike is very heavy but this is not noticed on the move but steps and styles etc are awkward. Brakes strong the whole thing works wonderfully as you might expect for the price but it puts me in places I thought my poorly knees wouldn't take me and like my old Alfa I like looking at the cube...it looks cool, goes great and at 0% finance well they are giving it away for free.

New Lock?
I only leave mine to nip in a shop and get a drink or a bar but also do a lot of photography where I do leave it a bit so I've done my reasearch and Have decided on a Litelok wearable!

Range on a New 500mAh Bosch
I will. Three charges and no more than mid 30’s is not long enough for me! Yes I do know someone I could ask...I will post results.

Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500
I’ve had mine a week and never been off it. It’s got me back pedalling for the first time in years and I’m loving it more than I even thought. Bought the 19 frame but thought it felt cramped so swooped for 21 which is bigger but feels better. Going to invest in a litelok belt lock coz I’m petrified someone is going to try to nick it!!

Crikey I go out on a ride and come back to this Thanks for the great replies Ok so just done 33 miles on the Derwent walk 16.5 up and when I say up it’s a very gentle incline tea and sausage sarnie then turn round and come back flat or slightly down hill. Used mostly tour occasionally emtb and downhill eco or off...never turbo. It lost a bar after 5 miles then another after 10 then a third after another 10 so figure I have 1.5 left It is saying 8/9/11 left so range looks like 40 on a very light run. Was expecting more as the bloke in the bike shop was quoting much higher figures Maybe it will improve after a few more charges. Right I’m going to read that mathematical reply again Cheers everyone- Range on a New 500mAh Bosch
Just found this thread after a week with my Cube with Cx performance 500 and two runs of around 30 miles and I’m really disappointed with the range. Mostly old railway paths so no big climbs and not on turbo at all pedalling with purpose must of the time. Just charged it Turbo 24 emtb 27 tour 38 miles Not impressed- Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500
I didn't get the race just the hybrid pro 500. In black/grey. It's so pretty it's staying in my office not the garage- Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500
Yes...wildo...three knee ops for me and not really ridden for 3/4 years so this is a gamble. My wife will kick me out when she finds out I've spent 2k- Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500
Ordered a Reaction 500 today from Evans. Bought an old bike off gumtree for £10 and so got £200 off rest on 24 months 0%. Upgraded the pedals and it's coming next week. Love the look of it and hope my dodgy knees and iffy hip will not complain too much as chant wait to get back to what I did a few years ago.- Trek powerfly 4 or Cube Reaction hybrid 500?
Thanks I'll dig deeper into the specs especially fork...makes sense. Thanks for the replies.- Trek powerfly 4 or Cube Reaction hybrid 500?
Hi... Story so far. Bought a Mate bike that had a thumb throttle and 350w motor..it was nice but was worried about the legality..like lack of it...and sold it. Also in the 10 miles I rode it I thought an e mountain bike would be more up my street for what I want to be doing. 2k is way expensive but good old 0% finance is on hand so I'm between the two bikes above. Both around £2100 both bosch performance cx with 500 batteries. Had a Trek before it was solid...like the lines of the cube. This will be a long term buy but it's a lot of money so thought I would ask your opinions. Occasional use track, road, riverside occasional woods. Considered Cube acid too due to cost. Thanks- Looking for a lightweight folding e-bike?
I have a Mate. folding bike but it's so heavy it really cannot be considered portable. Walking around with it really isn't possible, unlike the ads they promote and I can't even stick it in my fiesta boot without both the back seats going down but foldabilty was low on my list so not too bothered.- My name is Mark and I am an idiot!
Thanks a lot for the replies. I am unsure where to go here as plan 1 is take the thumb throttle off take stickers off and enjoy and hope I don't get stopped or 2 flog it and get something else that's 250. I just want to kick around, get a bit fitter and enjoy the feeling of being on a bike again as I recently hired bikes in London and Berlin and loved zipping through the streets parking up,taking pics, having a coffee...did loads of miles and thought my knees are ok let's get one!!! Thanks for the advice....it's a fab site.- My name is Mark and I am an idiot!
Thanks for the replies. 350 is stamped on the hub of the motor and there is a big sticker on the frame saying 350. Think it will assist to 30kph as it is the top s version intended for the US. I’ll put a couple of pics up tonight when I get home. It’s a new brand bike from 2017 so cant imagine being able to pass it off as 2016 to get away with the throttle.- My name is Mark and I am an idiot!
I made the mistake of telling my wife I wanted an electric bike and she went off and bought me a bike from a private seller that has a 350w motor and a throttle. It looks amazing and I had it put together by a local bike shop but now I realise I'm not supposed to ride it. It's from a company called Mate and is the S version. I haven't ridden for a few years due to 3 knee ops and I can't wait to get out but daren't risk it as the consequences would result in job loss. Question is can I replace this motor with a 250w and disconnec the throttle also in the mean time if I took the battery out can I then at least get out and get the wind in my hair.....it's a heavy bike though. I'm a bit stuck so any answers will be appreciated - Range on a New 500mAh Bosch
