I just broke a KMC chain so I ordered a Whipperman Connex SE Ebike chain but cant find any reviews or comparative tests for them. Ill post a review once Ive had some miles out of it

Hi everyone I just ordered a Wippermann Connex ES Ebike chain. Has anyone used them and are they worth the price tag? I payed 54 Euro with delivery from Germany to the UK

I'm sure I look like an ideot wearing a helmet and have even had someone call me a dick riding down the road wearing one while wearing shades to keep flys out my eyes. I'd rather look like a dick than have a brain injury or even worse. I never wore one as a kid and had one acedent and have a scar on my forhead to prove it. Luckily I didn't hit the curb with enough force to do any real damage. It doesn't matter how good you can ride a bike you can't always compensate for driver error or avoid a blow out. I'd rather have one and not ever need it than not have one the one time I do. It only takes once

Totally me and I got my bike to take me fishing and camping where I could only dream of in a car or on a normal bike. I go fishing where no man fished before or it feels like it. I can spend a few days there charge up and be off and nobody knows I was there. Its great

I get it at the bike shop all the time my response is ill buy a proper bike when I have the money. I was out riding the other month and two blokes on racers passed me on the strait peddling like mad. One said all rite pal as they passed. There was a nice big climb up ahead and I just kept my pace. I passed them quarter of the way up and said see ya pal. He shouted you fxxxxxg bxxxxxd and I laughed at him. I had a look at the top and they were still only half way up. I had plenty of juice left after the hill so didn't see them again. It's only cheating if you want it to be a fair contest and I'm not competing because I know my bike is faster in the long run

It's probably your control panel too then that's what mine was doing. There's water in the control pannel

I suspect I could get a yamaha motor imported that would fit my bike not been into it but that's why I picked yamaha motor. I suspect they sell one under a different title where they are manufactured. Yamaha sell to there own people and overseas. Giant call it syncdrive I suspect yamaha call it something else. Its there tecnology

Yes exactly and the market leader will have to sell parts in my opinion to gain a reputation for looking after customers and not ripping them off. If they don't other company's will start to eventually fill that demand and they will lose aftersales revenue. At the moment they are bringing new motors out each year to try to counteract it

Thanks the bosh motor looks a good motor too. I have noticed more people seem to go for the bosh systems than the Giant or yamaha motor. What will be interesting is how many miles on average you get out of them in comparison, and who end up the best suppliers of afters sales parts. Giant just upgraded the motors to pro version. They made the mortor slightly smaller but the price is significantly higher for basically the same motor. In my opinion that will slow sales quite a bit until they drop the price

Don't count on them not doing it they implemented a smoking ban in all enclosed spaces and included the pub trade that for hundreds of years was a place you went for a smoke and a drink. They decimated it with taxes and bans. They didn't even give pubs the option of being smoking or none smoking pubs. You can't even have a pint in a pub that doesn't cost three times as much as in a supermarket and a smoke anymore. They killed a booming industry in the richest decade in history. I won't be supprised whatever they do. Ebikes are priced rediculesly as it is

I've not changed my chainrings yet I've done about 2000 miles probably heading for 2500 and my chanrings are fine. My motor is the sync drive sport made by yamaha. I've got a Giant E+1 mainly road use with a bit off road now and again. I've got through two cassettes in that mileage but it's just the first and second smallest teeth. My smallest tooth is worn now second is still good. I would be better suited to the road gearing setup but I love the mountain bike

I'm getting 1000 miles before my smallest tooth is worn but I ride in that tooth most of the time. Not ideal but I'm going to change my largest chainring so I'm comfortable in the middle of my cassette most of the time. If you get 5000 miles that's good I wish I got 2000 miles hopefully I will when I change the chainring

The best cassette for an ebike are all steel cassetes and there are ebike chains that cost double the amount of some chains. Im not sure how stronger they are than high strenth none ebike chains or if they are worth the extra but high tensile steel is harder than other materials used to make cassettes and chains
