Tyre width has narrow can you go?
From the experience of you guys, I'll not prejudge the (theoretical) bikes tyres until I've tried it.

Thanks Fleck, what a lot of broken Kalkhoff motors...

Tyre width has narrow can you go?
Thats interesting, I'm guessing that it negatively effected the battery life due to energy wasted shooting up that connection.

Looking for my first Ebike.
Thanks for the heads up about the China issue, hadn't though how that would affect me at all! I've not rode one yet, but am thinking that identifying the motor/battery/range to meet my wildest dreams, then narrowing down onto the models that have that combination is how I'm going to find a bike. In that regard the bosch calculator is really useful, https://www.bosch-ebike.com/en/service/range-assistant/ But I'm not aware of anything similar from other manufacturers. Is this an arms race Bosch will win through marketing? Vhs vs betamax? Currently leaning towards Bosch activeline plus with a 400w battery, (500 would be nice...) Seen a Cube bike with that set up and others. I'm interested in the Kalkhoff range too, but think that with their extra torq they will have less range, like the Bosch Cx motor more power =less range due to battery use.

Kalkhoff impulse vs bosch active line plus
Any thoughts? Came across this article https://www.50cycles.com/blog/kalkhoff-impulse-and-bosch-electric-bike-comparison/ Which is firmly on the side of Kalkhoff, but it is from 3 years ago. I know Kalkhoff use their own motors and Bosch as they see fit for the bike but... Is there a winner? I have been on the Bosch site using the range calculator and with the active line plus could, theoretically, get huge distances. Though some weight loss on my part might help... https://www.bosch-ebike.com/en/service/range-assistant/ Would welcome your thoughts.

Tyre width has narrow can you go?
Thanks guys. I'd got the impression that it was a comfort thing, but the point about breaking is a valid one. When I eventually male my mine up and get a bike I will have a play around and see what works for me. (I'm not adverse to padded shorts) Currently I'm riding skinny tyres on a racing style bike and have no problems with comfort, but if I up the distance/time in the saddle...

Tyre width has narrow can you go?
Hi I'm just wondering if you can fit narrower tyres on an ebike as lots of the ones I've seen all have very substantial tyres. On my normal bike, I've reduced Tyre drag by putting narrower tyres on. Does this work for ebike? Less drag =more mileage per charge? Cheers

Looking for my first Ebike.
Hi folks, Looking forward to finding someideas and info for buying my first ebike. Distance tourer & commuter. And I have some why do they do that? Questions... Always been a cyclist, but nothing serious. now hoping to have some longer journeys with and trips away.
